BABY WAINWRIGHT LIKENED TO A HAM
Singer RUFUS WAINWRIGHT was devastated when his mother compared him to a large ham.
The star - whose younger sister is fellow musician Martha Wainwright - was surprised to hear him likened to the pork product after his mother described her daughter’s birth in more romantic terms.
He says, "When Martha was born, my mum said she saw a beautiful rainbow-coloured fan open up in front of her, and started to cry. She called it a beautiful, cosmic experience.
"When she recalls having me, she talks about going to the grocery store the day before I was born. She bought a ham that was 9 pounds 5 ounces. ‘Then Rufus,’ she says, ‘you came out exactly the same weight.’ "So I was a ham and Martha was a rainbow!".
