STEWART’S SON TO STAND TRIAL
ROD STEWART’s son SEAN has been ordered to stand trial in Los Angeles over charges he assaulted a couple. The rocker’s offspring is facing a legal battle with Daniel Refoua, who claims he was "attacked, assaulted, battered, punched, beat, hit, struck, tortured and imprisoned" by Stewart during an incident which took place in the Hollywood Hills in January (07).
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Julius M. Title claimed witnesses for the prosecution and defence offered conflicting testimony during a hearing on Wednesday (19Sep07), but said there was sufficient evidence to allow the case against Stewart to proceed.
Stewart pleaded not guilty to three felony counts, including assault with a deadly weapon in June. He remains free on bail.
A trial date is yet to be confirmed.
