SHAGGY VISA FIASCO

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:30 pm

Reggae star SHAGGY will not be able to fulfil his role as co-host at London’s Music Of Black Origin Awards on Wednesday (19Sep07) - because event organisers have failed to arrange his work visa, according to reports.
The Jamaican singer is due to present the ceremony with British pop star Jamelia at the capital’s O2 Arena, but his appearance has been thrown into jeopardy after organisers messed up his visa application.
A source tells British newspaper the Daily Mirror, "The MOBOs had applied for work permits for all the acts performing on the night but they had not applied for one for Shaggy. I think it might be an oversight.
"If Shaggy hasn’t got a valid work visa then it’s up to the government to deal with it. There is lee-way for them to let Shaggy and the MOBOs off with a warning but it’s up to them." A spokesman for the U.K. Home Office refused to comment on individual cases, but warned: "We can’t comment on individual cases but the onus is always on the applicant that they put their applications in on time."
