THORNTON & SCOTT INJURED IN WRESTLING SMACKDOWN
BILLY BOB THORNTON and SEANN WILLIAM SCOTT suffered for their art during a wrestling scene in new movie MR
. WOODCOCK - both suffered severe injuries on the mat.
Scott reveals the wrestling was one of the sequences shot, and neither he nor his co-star in the comedy warmed up enough to avoid injury.
He says, "All of a sudden we’re grabbing each other and it was very bizarre.
It was two days of throwing each other around and he was really just kicking my ass.
"I’m not a stunt guy, so I don’t know how to go down without being injured, so I came away with a really bad back, and he came away with a broken foot." Thornton reveals, "I didn’t even realise it was broken
. I walked around on it a couple of days and I knew something was wrong, so I finally went to the doctor and he said, ‘Hey, your foot’s broken.’ "He just kind of wrapped it real tight and gave me a bigger shoe and we finished the movie
. I didn’t take any time off." Thornton admits it wasn’t the greatest injury he’s suffered on a film set: "I’ve been hurt much worse in movies before
. I’ve had a broken collar bone, six broken ribs, and a cracked pelvis."
