An audiotape of O.J. SIMPSON’s alleged armed stand-off in a Las Vegas hotel room has been leaked online.
The former American football star was arrested on Sunday (16Sep07), following an armed raid at the Palace Station Hotel & Casino. Reports suggest he and five associates purported to be part of a group interested in buying memorabilia items from collector Alfred Beardsley.
The tape, obtained by website TMZ.com, was recorded by Thomas Riccio, co-owner of the auction house Universal Rarities. Simpson is apparently heard telling Beardsley, "Think you can steal my s**t and sell it?" In another extract from the tape, one of the parties involved in the raid is heard growling, "You, against the motherf**king wall!" Meanwhile, Bruce Fromong, another collector who was in the in the hotel room at the time of the raid, says he was shocked to see Simpson brandishing a weapon.
He says, "The door burst open and they came in almost commando style, O.J.
Simpson and some of his people… with guns drawn.
"O.J. at that time was saying, ‘I want my stuff. I want my stuff.’ As soon as I saw him, I’m thinking, ‘O.J., how can you be this dumb? You’re in enough trouble.’" Police confirmed they have seized two guns they believe were used in the alleged robbery. Four men are still being sought in connection with the incident.

Superstar BARBRA STREISAND is set to snub an Australian tour in favour of neighbouring New Zealand - because she is still upset by the country’s criticism of a concert seven years ago.
The diva was criticised by Australian fans for using an autocue to remember the stage banter in between singing tracks during her Timeless tour in 2000.
Streisand was also upset when it rained during her outdoor show in Sydney.
The experiences have thrown her 2008 tour plans into jeopardy and now the star is opting to perform in New Zealand.
A source says, "She felt misunderstood and her efforts to reach out to audiences were not fully appreciated." But tour promoter Andrew McManus says "nothing is definite".

LATEST: Actress VANESSA HUDGENS is preparing herself for further embarrassment as fresh racy photographs are published on the internet.
The teenage star hit the headlines after confirming she posed for saucy snapshots intended only for the eyes of boyfriend and High School Musical co-star Zac Efron.
Hudgens was forced to apologise to fans after the camera phone pictures appeared on select websites.
But new images show the 18-year-old posing cheekily with pals and one shows Hudgens pictured cuddling up close to one of her friend’s breasts. Other photos show her scantily-dressed.
A spokesman for Hudgens refused to comment.

Classical music star OSKAR MORAWENTZ has died at the age of 90.
The composer, who had been suffering from Parkinson’s disease since 2001, died at his home in Toronto, Canada on 13 June (07).
Claudia Morawetz paid tribute to her father’s talents.
She says, "Fellow musicians will surely remember his encyclopedic memory of the classical music literature and his resolve to compose from his heart rather than be swayed by current trends." Morawetz - who was born in the former Czechoslovakia - moved to Canada aged 23 to escape the Nazi occupation of Europe. He trained as a pianist at University of Toronto before embarking on a successful musical career that spanned more than 50 years.
His most famed works include Carnival Overture, Memorial to Martin Luther King and Prayer for Freedom.

Mexican singer PABLO MONTERO will be forced to submit a DNA sample to confirm whether or not he fathered the child of a Costa Rican woman.
Raquel Piedra is suing the star over claims he is the father of her son Daniel, but insists she does not want him to play a part in the child’s life.
She tells website Peopleenespanol.com, "His excuses are always evasive. He speaks sweetly and would always tell me ‘I’m going to help you,’ but when the time came, it was always just words.
"When he found out he was going to be a father, he washed his hands of it; he didn’t do anything. He washed his hands of my child as soon as he was born, never came back to Costa Rica, because he knows if he comes in he won’t leave again." Piedra also claims Montero - who is expecting a child with Argentinean actress Sandra Vidal - would not be a good father, adding, "I don’t think he has the necessary characteristics to be a father figure. I will always tell my son the truth."

British band BLUR will only reunite if frontman DAMON ALBARN can scale down his hectic schedule, according to his former bandmate GRAHAM COXON. The guitarist agreed to reunite with his former bandmates after leaving Blur in 2002 and insists he is "raring to record" a album with the band.
But Coxon claims Albarn’s work commitments may pose a threat to the reunion.
He says, "Dave (Rowntree), Alex (James) and I are all talking. I talk to Alex the most. But there’s four individuals in the band.
"We’re all really busy, but there’s definitely a week (when we’re going to record).

LATEST: Rapper REMY MA has dismissed allegations of assaulting a witness in relation to the shooting of a woman in July (07), insisting the latest accusations are simply intended to turn the public against her.
The hip-hop star, real name Remy Smith, was charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon after the shooting of 23-year-old Makeda Barnes-Joseph outside a New York City nightclub in July (07).
One count of attempted murder was reduced to assault after evidence suggested the shooting was unintentional.
But Smith, 26, faces further charges of witness tampering and gang assault following the alleged beating of a witness and his boyfriend in a Bronx, New York, nightclub in August (07).
She is accused of setting a group of male friends on Sydney Holmes and his partner because of his allegiance with long-time friend with Barnes-Joseph.
He tells the New York Daily News, "I was fighting seven dudes by myself. I was just defending myself. Now my jaw is broken in two places and I have a plate in my chin for the rest of my life.
"I have nothing against Remy but I just want justice to be done. How can they break my jaw and still be walking the streets?" But Smith’s publicist, Duran Brown, claims Holmes isn’t even involved in the original assault case.
In a statement released to TMZ.com, Brown says, "To clarify, the assaulted male is not a witness in this case.
"To sway public opinion the most recent indictment or ‘accusation’ has been released to the public in faith that it causes doubt of Remy Ma’s innocence, rather then highlighting the fact that this case has now turned into an assault plea.
"Remy Ma maintains her innocence of all charges and will continue to do her best as an entertainer, mother, friend, and entrepreneur for the betterment of her continually successful career." Smith is due back in court on 20 September (07).
