Britain’s Zara Phillips marked the start of the European Equestrian Eventing Championships by horsing around in a sparkling blue miniskirt at a fancy dress party.
Zara and the other four members of the British team dressed up as Britain’s flop Eurovision pop group Scooch and performed ‘Flying the Flag’ at the dinner held in Italy at the weekend.
The 26-year-old royal - who was joined by her father, equestrian coach Mark Phillips, for the event - drank beer and danced with the rival European riders during the evening.
Her mother, Princess Anne, flew out to watch Zara compete in the competition over the weekend.
However, unfortunately Zara lost European Champion title on the final day of the show-jumping event yesterday (16.09.07).
The young royal began the day in second place, but after her horse Toytown refused to jump one of the hurdles, she slipped down to sixth place.
Despite her poor performance, the British team were still overall winners and took home the gold medal for their country.
Zara was hoping for a good individual score to secure her a place in the British team for the 2008 Olympics.
