New mum JAIME PRESSLY owes her post-baby weight loss to a diet programme doctors use to get patients prepared for surgery.
The Emmy Award-winning actress admits she started getting back into shape 10 days after baby Dezzi James was born in May (07), and she used the Cabbage Soup Detox Diet twice to help her shed the pounds and tone up.
Pressly says, "I got back into the gym and worked out two hours a day, five days a week, and I did the Cabbage Soup diet.
"It helps cut the fat and it’s also something that doctors give patients who are waiting to go into surgery - to detox their body. So it’s a really great, healthy diet."

SIENNA MILLER was so touched by an ancient poem a blind man gave her in Guatemala, she had it engraved on to a lucky amulet she carries with her at all times.
The Alfie star was initially stunned when the breathless man begged her to take the 17th century poem, Desiderata, insisting it was all about her.
But, upon reading the words, she realised he was right.
She says, "He said, ‘It’s for you…’ I was, like, ‘OK, what is this?’" The poem features the lines, "You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe in unfolding as it should."

BRITNEY SPEARS’ former bodyguard TONY BARETTO is the ’secret witness’ who has come forward to testify against the pop superstar in her ongoing child custody battle with ex-husband KEVIN FEDERLINE.
As Federline and Spears’ lawyers meet in Los Angeles to thrash out ongoing custody terms concerning the couple’s two young sons, independent attorney Gloria Allred turned up at court early on Monday (17Sep07) with her client, Barreto.
Adding to the confusion outside the courthouse, Allred told reporters she has filed a declaration on her client’s behalf in the custody battle.
The heavy-set Latino has not been called to testify in the custody case, but, according to Allred, he is willing to testify against the singer with regards to alleged nudity, alleged drug use and safety issues he claims he witnessed while working for the Toxic singer.
Baretto severed his ties with Spears in May (07).

BRITNEY SPEARS’ ex-husband KEVIN FEDERLINE is set to become a regular fixture on TV drama series ONE TREE HILL after impressing cast and crew with his acting skills.
The rapper/dancer has already filmed a guest role on the show and thoroughly enjoyed himself.
And now Federline, who made his acting debut on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation last year (06), is set for more appearances on the hit teen soap.
He says, "I’ve had a great time doing it I didn’t really know I’d have as much fun as I did doing it.
"I’ve shot two already and I’ve got to go out and shoot one more… We’ll see where it takes me." Federline reveals he has put his pop career on hold to concentrate on his love for acting.
He adds, "I like doing it all. Music is a passion to me but I’m finding my passion in acting right now."

Beloved U.S. actress BRETT SOMERS has lost her battle with stomach and colon cancer at her home in Westport, Connecticut. She was 83.
Somers made regular appearances on The Odd Couple alongside her husband Jack Klugman, but is perhaps best known as a panellist on hit U.S. game show the Match Game in the 1970s.
She fought cancer for many years, refusing to let the disease halt her successful one-woman cabaret show, An Evening with Brett Somers, which she first took on the road in 2003.
Born Audrey Johnston in New Brunswick, Canada, the actress ran away from home as a teenager, desperate to become a star on Broadway. She changed her first name to Brett and adopted her mother’s maiden name Somers.
Her son Adam Klugman says, "She died very much at peace."

LATEST: O.J. SIMPSON will be held behind bars without bail until Wednesday morning (19Sep07), following his armed robbery arrest at the weekend (16Sep07).
The Naked Gun star was put on a no-bail hold by Clark County Court chief judge Doug Smith after he was apprehended in Las Vegas on Sunday, and placed in an isolation unit.
Simpson must now await Judge Anne Zimmerman’s verdict on Wednesday before he will know if he can post bail. Alternatively, official charges could be filed by the District Attorney’s office and the sports star-turned-actor could be detained in Las Vegas indefinitely.
Simpson reportedly raided a suite at the Palace Station Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, pretending to be part of a group interested in buying memorabilia items from collector Alfred Beardsley.
At a press conference on Monday (17Sep07), Clark County Courts media spokeswoman Nancy Oesterle revealed Simpson’s trial could be a speedy affair if the star enters a not guilty plea to charges on Wednesday.
She said, "It would then be set down within 15 days for a speedy preliminary hearing."

Latin jazz legend GENEROSO JIMENEZ has died after suffering renal failure in Miami, Florida. He was 90.
The trombonist was an original member of Orquesta Aragon and found fame in singer Beny More’s backing band. More later immortalised the horn player in the song Generoso, Que Bueno Toca Usted (Generoso, How Well You Play).
Jimenez released an album titled Generoso, Que Bueno Toca Usted in 2002, which was nominated for a Latin Grammy.
He was active right up to his death on Saturday (15Sep07) - he performed with fellow Cuban Isaac Delgado in Miami back in June (07) and performed on Gloria Estefan’s new album, 90 Millas.
Jimenez will be buried in Miami on Tuesday (18Sep07), according to Billboard.com.

The troubled Austin City Limits festival in Texas ended on a high note on Sunday (16Sep07) - with an onstage marriage proposal and a stunning headlining set from BOB DYLAN.
The weekend event started badly when a fire broke out on the Zilker Park site on Friday (14Sep07), leaving four people injured, two critically.
But, as the three-day festival closed, event officials confirmed all four fire victims were expected to recover from their injuries, with only one expected to stay in hospital this week.
Aside from the performances of acts like Bjork, Pete Yorn, Dylan, The Decemberists and Arcade Fire, the weekend highlight was a wedding proposal in the middle of cult folk-rockers Midlake’s set.
The Texas band welcomed their nervous fans onstage and watched as the guy got down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend. After she accepted, Midlake performed their hit Young Bride.

CELINE DION is set for a little darkness as she plans her post-Las Vegas recording career - former EVANESCENCE stars BEN MOODY and DAVID HODGES will join her in the studio.
The rockers will reportedly write and produce new song This Time for the singer’s first studio album after performing as an artist-in-residence at Caesar’s Palace in Sin City.
They won’t be the only hitmakers joining Dion in the studio - superproducer Timbaland has also signed on to help her with her comeback album.

Pop trio HANSON will be selling shoes on their upcoming U.S. tour in a bid to provide African youths with footwear.
The sibling group has teamed up with the bosses of TOMS shoes to kickstart a footwear drive for the Third World.
For every pair of TOMS sold to fans on The Walk tour, the footwear firm’s bosses will donate a pair to an African child in need.
Hanson will also join fans for a one-mile walk in each town and city they play on the tour. The fans will be encouraged to don a pair of TOMS for the stroll.
The exact location of each day’s walk will be announced on hanson.net three hours in advance of each show. Fans who participate in the one-mile walk will get to "jump the line" for the concert that night.
Taylor Hanson says, "We want to inspire others to look for simple, tangible and fun ways to make a difference.
"It is easy to be halted by the great hurdles of poverty and AIDS, but making an impact can begin as simply as giving someone a pair of shoes." The first walk event will be held in Chicago, Illinois at the end of September (07), before the trio’s two House of Blues concerts.

Legendary singer BARRY MANILOW has cancelled a scheduled appearance on U.S. TV show THE VIEW, because he dislikes co-host ELISABETH HASSELBECK.
The mild-mannered Mandy singer was scheduled to appear on the daytime show on Tuesday (17Sep07) to promote his new covers album, The Greatest Songs of The Seventies.
But Manilow pulled out of the show, after stating he finds right-wing host Hasselbeck "dangerous and offensive" and strongly disagrees with her "conservative views." In a statement, Manilow says, "I strongly disagree with her views. I think she’s dangerous and offensive. I will not be on the same stage as her… I cannot compromise my beliefs." He adds, "I had made a request that I be interviewed by co-hosts Joy (Behar), Barbara (Walters) or Whoopi (Goldberg), but not Elisabeth Hasselbeck.
Unfortunately, the show was not willing to accommodate this simple request, so I bowed out." Manilow’s pal Rosie O’Donnell quit The View in May (07) after a heated and politically-charged public dispute with Hasselbeck.

BRITNEY SPEARS’ custody case has just suffered another blow - her lawyer is on the verge of quitting.
The singer is currently embroiled in a bitter battle with her ex-husband Kevin Federline over the care of their two sons Sean Preston, two, and one-year-old Jayden James.
According to TMZ.com, Spears’ lawyer Laura Wasser will submit legal papers formally withdrawing as her attorney on Monday (17Sep07) .
Reports suggest Spears was a "problem client" who failed to listen to Wasser’s advice.
The website reports Spears’ new lawyer will be high-profile attorney Marci Levine.
The singer and her ex were expected to appear at a Los Angeles court on Monday (17Sep07) to hear Federline’s case for removing the children from Spears’ care.

The young actor has been invited to countless opening galas, but has never managed to attend any, due to other work commitments.
He tells People.com, "I’ve never been to a High School Musical premiere ever. I couldn’t go to the DVD premiere. I was on tour for the (High School Musical 2) Disneyland premiere. I couldn’t go to London for the international premiere. I’m cursed." But the 18-year-old’s luck could be about to change after agreeing to appear in High School Musical 3.
He adds, "Truthfully, as long as it’s a good script and as long as everybody is being paid fairly, I would be more than happy to go and have one last hurrah."
