FISCHER KEEN NOT TO REPEAT 2006 EMMY NIGHTMARES

Emmy Award nominee JENNA FISCHER has bittersweet memories of last year’s (06) TV Oscars - it cost her $2,700 (GBP1,350) and her designer gown made her sweat like a pig.
The actress, who is nominated for an Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series prize on Sunday (16Sep07), reveals last year’s gift bag cost her a small fortune in taxes - and she wore the wrong dress.
She explains, "The gift bag used to be the most exciting thing about it but now you get taxed for them
. I got my Emmy gift bag last year and I ended up paying $2,700 in taxes on it
. Whether you use the stuff or not, if you take the bag you’re paying taxes on what the bag is worth.
"One of the coupons was I could have a cheese party at my house and I had to pay taxes on the cheese coupons." But it was her designer gown that caused her the most headaches a year ago: "I barely made it into the Shrine Auditorium because I was so hot on the red carpet..
. I had to go into the bathroom and literally take off my dress and wipe myself with tissues.
"I had to hang the dress on that little hook and I’m standing there in my undergarments, which was ridiculous
. I had to practically shower in the ladies room when the show was starting, and my category was up first
. If I hadn’t and I had won I would’ve slipped right off the stage from the amount of liquid pouring off my body." Fischer has a much better plan this year: "Carolina Herrera made me a beautiful dress that’s really lightweight, silky and fun."
