The pair appear together in new movie 3:10 To Yuma - and Bale reveals he quickly grew tired of Crowe’s constant ridicule.
Bale says, "It never stopped and it continues still.
"I actually had to buy him his own special rubber suit." Bale recently revealed Crowe will be making a cameo appearance in the next Batman film, The Dark Knight.
He said, "Russell’s going to actually be in the new Batman movie, which is a big surprise and I want to reveal it to everybody right now."

Author SEBASTIAN FAULKS completed the new JAMES BOND novel, DEVIL MAY CARE in just six weeks.
The British writer was commissioned to pen the new Bond book last year (06) by the estate of the spy series’ original author, Ian Fleming.
Faulks threw himself into producing 2,000 words a day, in what he calls a style "about 80 per cent Ian Fleming" - and he found the experience a pleasant surprise.
He says, "I found writing this light-hearted book more thrilling than I had expected.
"I’d spent nearly five years in psychiatric hospitals and medical libraries writing an immensely long and difficult book (2005’s Human Traces).
"It’s possible there are no two books in publishing history more dissimilar than Human Traces and Devil May Care. And that was really the attraction of it." The book will be published on 28 May (08) to mark the centenary of Fleming’s birth.
Fleming died in 1964.

Designer MARC JACOBS is threatening to boycott future New York Fashion weeks, after a furious row with organisers of the event.
Jacobs was incensed when his late running show on Monday (10Sep07) was rumoured to be the result of a drinking binge.
But the couturier insists he was held up by last minute design alterations.
He tells the New York Daily News, "We don’t want to show here anymore. I was at the f**king office until the last fitting was over. I hadn’t showered in three days! I slept on the couch in my office for 20 minutes three nights in a row. I got 20 minutes’ sleep Friday night, Saturday night, Sunday night… I took 20 minutes to shower and shave - I stank like a raccoon! I could not go to the show like that!047 "I’m very sorry that I inconvenienced anyone by having a show two hours late.
But we do a huge production show; we try to give fashion and do a major fashion show in New York…
"But as far as I’m concerned, we weren’t two hours late, we were two weeks early. When we complain about the show schedule, our voice is not heard.
"The (Council of Fashion Designers of America) does me absolutely no service as an American fashion designer."

Former American footballer O.J. SIMPSON has been questioned by Las Vegas police in relation to a casino hotel break-in.
The incident took place on Thursday night (13Sep07) at the Palace Station Casino, where hotel bosses reported sports memorabilia had been taken from one of the suites.
Simpson’s alleged level of involvement in the robbery has not been disclosed and he has not been charged with any crime.
His Florida lawyer, Yale L. Galanter, has yet to comment on his client’s whereabouts, although police spokesman Jose Montoya says the star is believed to still be in Las Vegas.
The ex-National Football League (NFL) star was due to give a court deposition on Friday (14Sep07) in Miami, Florida, in his eldest daughter’s bankruptcy case, but cancelled the appearance because he was out of town.
Simpson was famously acquitted in 1995 of the 1994 murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman, but was found liable for their deaths in a civil trial in 1996.
He further hit headlines earlier this year (07) with the publishing of his controversial tomb If I Did It, which hypothetically places the retired footballer at the scene of the murders.

GYM CLASS HEROES star TRAVIS McCOY has thanked British rockers SUPERTRAMP for inspiring "hot moms" to listen to his band’s music.
The band sampled the group’s 1979 single Breakfast In America on hit Cupid’s Chokehold, and McCoy insists using an old track helped open up their fanbase.
He says, "These good things all started with us sampling Supertramp. Because of that we get all these hot moms at our shows.
"They take their kids to see Gym Class Heroes and suddenly there they are, getting down to the music. And, man, some of those moms are hot."

Columbian singer JUANES has vowed never to sing in English - because he won’t be able to compete with other artists who perform in the language.
The star - real name Juan Esteban Aristizábal Vásquez - insists he will remain faithful to his native Spanish tongue, as he wouldn’t be as successful against English-speaking singers.
He says, "Singing in English doesn’t really interest me.
"I have to worry about pronunciation so I don’t sing from my soul. Even the label hasn’t pressured me, and it’s a coherent stance. If I sing in English, I’ll be up against thousands of people who sing and think in English. I continue with my Spanish."

GYM CLASS HEROES star TRAVIS McCOY is shocked he isn’t recognised by fans instead he gets mistaken for a drug dealer.
The singer is surprised by the case of mistaken identity, because he doesn’t even smoke marijuana.

Dance star SOPHIE ELLIS-BEXTOR has apologised to fans for postponing her forthcoming U.K. tour - so she can go on the road with TAKE THAT.
The Murder On The Dancefloor hitmaker will join Take That as their "special guest" on 34 dates of the reformed British boyband’s European tour, which kicks off in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on 11 October (07).
Ellis-Bextor’s own tour was due to kick off in early October, but she has postponed the dates for the time being because touring with the Back For Good singers was a "dream" opportunity.
She says, "(It was) incredibly difficult, if not impossible, to do both. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity any girl would be a fool to turn down." The 28-year-old is looking to reschedule her U.K. tour for 2008 and promises her solo dates will be "bigger and better than ever".

STATUS QUO star RICK PARFITT credits his son RICHARD for preventing his life from spiralling out of control after suffering a bout of depression.
The rocker went on a drinking binge after the breakdown of his second marriage in 2005 and moved in with his then-27-year-old son Richard, the offspring from his first wife, Marietta Boeker.
The rocker’s welfare deteriorated rapidly and it was left to Richard to come to his aid, urging him to clean up his lifestyle and spend more time with his family.
Parfitt recalls, "I crawled into a vodka bottle and Richard would find me in a state of collapse at 3am - on my own. I was in a terrible mess.
"It got to the point where I didn’t want to go out, I lost my confidence and my self esteem and I didn’t know what to do.
"(But then) Richard would say, ‘Come on dad, come out with me. Do something.
Go and play golf.’"

A British luxury store hired a snake to guard a pair of £60,000 shoes.
London department store Harrods enlisted the help of an Egyptian cobra snake to watch over a pair of Rene Caovilla jewel-encrusted sandals for the launch of the designer’s new shoe collection.
The slithery security guard named Cedric, effectively warned off any would-be-shoplifters hoping to steal the exquisite slippers, encrusted with rubies, sapphires and diamonds.
A Harrods spokesperson said: "The snake has now been returned to its owner."

A British couple have spent 22 years living in a budget hotel, because it’s cheaper than living in an old people’s home David Davidson, 79, and wife Jean, 70 checked into a Nottingham Travelodge back in 1985, and like it so much they never checked out.
At just £8,000 a year for free heating, water, clean sheets, and television, the couple believe it is cheaper than owning a home, or moving into residential care, which can cost £21,000 a year.
David said: "We love the staff and we know them all by name. We even get birthday and Christmas cards from them and give presents back.
"There is no reason to go home. Even when we go on holiday we stay in Travelodges."

A German town has removed all traffic lights in a bid to improve road safety.
The town of Bohmte has adopted the idea of ‘Shared Space’, which means both drivers and pedestrians enjoy equal right of way by removing all the traffic controls, including signs and lights.
The mayor of Bohmte, Klaus Goedejohann, said: "Traffic will no longer be dominant." The project has cost the town 1.2 million euros, with the European Union covering half the expense.
‘Shared Space’ was an idea developed by Dutch traffic specialist Hans Monderman.

A US burglar was caught completely in the nude after losing his clothes in a tussle with a homeowner.
Wayne Boniface, from Minnesota, flew into a rage when the man grabbed his wife, Kathie, after the couple apprehended him sneaking round their home.
The 69-year-old said: "I had him in the kitchen wrestling him to the ground in a headlock and arm-lock." Wayne then ripped the man’s shirt off in the scuffle.
He added: "In today’s world, pants are worn fairly loose. I pulled his pants, and his pants and underpants and shoes came completely off. He was completely nude." The 20-year-old man - who has been charged with two counts of burglary - was caught running though the neighbourhood stark naked 20 minutes later.

A US mugger was caught after stopping to lick his victim’s toes.
The suspect, a 27-year-old man, approached a young woman as she was leaving work at around 1am, and demanded her keys and phone.
Rather than making a quick getaway, he then removed the lady’s shoes and began licking her toes.
Commander Kevin Casper called the incident, in the town of St. Paul, Minnesota, "weird sexual behaviour".
The man was arrested just a few minutes later four blocks away.
The woman - who was unhurt in the incident - identified the suspect and police were able to recover her stolen items.

A Norwegian jeweller has designed the world’s most expensive iPod.
Goldsmith Thomas Heyerdahl has named his £21,000 jewel-encrusted Apple mp3 music player the iDiamond.
The devise comes with a pair of earplugs made from 18carat white and pink gold along with an iPod shuffle and headset encrusted with a staggering 430 diamonds.
The iDiamond is currently on display in the designer’s Oslo flagship store.
It is due to go on sale in a charity auction.

A Romanian village have built a monument to onions.
The people of western village Periceni decided to erect a 20ft high metal statue in honour of the root vegetable because it has such great importance in their lives.
Local businessman Alexandru Tatar, who made his fortune selling onions, funded the project.
He said: "To be honest I absolutely hated onions when I was growing up, but I have made my fortune out of them and they have turned me into what I am today. Onions deserve to have their own monument." Villagers have been harvesting onions for centuries and many have relied on them to make a living.

A pair of US boys burnt down their grandparents’ home while setting fire to cockroaches.
The boys - aged eight and 10 - were sleeping over at their grandparents’ home in Pompano Beach, Florida, when they found some cockroaches in their room.
They decided to use alcohol and a lighter to set the pests alight, accidentally causing a bed to catch fire.
The boys ran to wake their grandparents and fortunately they all escaped unharmed.
The blaze spread throughout the house and it burnt to the ground.
The Red Cross have placed the family at a hotel temporarily and the boys must attend the Broward Sheriff’s Office Fire-Starter prevention and education programme.

A McDonald’s employee in the US has been jailed for serving a burger that was too salty.
Police officer Wendell Adams arrested Kendra Bull and charged her with reckless conduct, after he was sick after eating a burger she had made.
The 20-year-old admitted she accidentally spilt salt on hamburger meat at the Georgia drive-through but when she told her supervisor they "tried to thump the salt off".
She ate a burger made with the salty meat and said she felt fine.
Despite her pleas, Adams still arrested Bull because she served the burger "without regards to the well-being of anyone who might consume it".
Bull - who has been released on bail - said: "If it was too salty, why didn’t he take one bite and throw it away?" Samples of the burger have been sent for testing.
