LANGHAM SENTENCED TO 10 MONTHS BEHIND BARS
LATEST: British comedy star CHRIS LANGHAM has been sentenced to 10 months in jail after he was convicted on 15 counts of child pornography last month (Aug07).
The 58-year-old was found guilty on all charges of making indecent images of a child, following the police discovery of explicit films on his home computer.
Langham maintained his innocence throughout the trial, claiming the internet downloads were part of his research for BBC TV drama Help.
But his claims were thrown out by the jury in August and he was remanded in custody at Elmey Prison on the Isle of Sheppey in Kent, England until sentencing.
The fallen TV star returned to England’s Maidstone Crown Court on Friday (14Sep07), where he was told he would serve at least five months in prison.
