BLANCHETT COMPARES ELIZABETH I TO DIANA
Actress CATE BLANCHETT has likened British royal QUEEN ELIZABETH I to the late DIANA, PRINCESS OF WALES.
The Oscar winner portrays the 16th century queen in new movie Elizabeth: The Golden Age, and she believes the two women shared similar fragilities in their personal lives.
Speaking at the Toronto Film Festival in Canada on Wednesday (12Sep07), she says, "In a way, Elizabeth was a bit like Princess Diana, as she clung to her public when there was no one to cling to in her private life."
