SPECTOR JURY TOLD TO IGNORE TV SPECIAL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:36 pm

The jury in the PHIL SPECTOR murder trial were ordered not to watch a TV news special about the case, which aired in America on Wednesday night (12Sep07).
Jury members, who began the fourth day of deliberations to decide whether the record producer is guilty of actress Lana Clarkson’s death on Thursday (13Sep07), were told on Wednesday to avoid the Dateline NBC expose, which featured damning testimonies from some of the 77 witnesses who took the stand in the case, some of who recounted terrifying moments when Spector held guns to their heads.
The hour-long special also featured a look back over the legendary record producer’s life and career, with commentary from British journalist Mick Brown, who penned new biography Tearing Down The Wall of Sound.
Ironically, the producer of the news show is one of the 12 person jury, which has been in service since the second-degree murder trial began on 19 March (07).
The Facing The Music programme featured commentary about Spector’s infamous love of guns, and host Keith Morrison revealed the record producer fired a gun in a studio while recording with John Lennon and held a gun to the heads of Leonard Cohen and Mamas & The Papas star Michelle Phillips.
The TV special also featured a look back over Clarkson’s career, with comments from B-movie mogul Roger Corman, who produced the actress’ big movie break Barbarian Queen.
The Dateline expose also recounted the night a reportedly intoxicated Spector met Clarkson at the House of Blues in Hollywood and took her back to his home, where she lost her life.
Spector maintains he didn’t kill Clarkson. His lawyers have argued the depressed actress shot herself in Spector’s Alhambra, California mansion.

50 CENT BLAMES INTERSCOPE FOR POOR ALBUM SALES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:12 pm

Rapper 50 CENT has slammed Interscope Records for failing to adequately promote his album CURTIS, accusing his record label of "dropping the ball" in his chart battle against KANYE WEST.
The In Da Club hitmaker - real name Curtis Jackson - released his new LP on Tuesday (11Sep07), the same day as West’s Graduation - but the Stronger star is already outselling 50 Cent by two to one, according to midweek sales figures.
And Jackson is so unhappy with Interscope he has vowed to ditch the label after he completes his contract.
Speaking to DJ Angie Martinez on New York radio station Hot 97 on Wednesday (12Sep07), he says, "To be honest the process of selling this record hasn’t been fun. I’m happy with the performance, but I’m not happy with the set up. We had conference calls and after we created this plan, nobody actually had a plan.
"It was the label. They’re dropping the ball all over the place. I’ll release my next album and then I’m a free agent."

ALBA’S LOVE RIVAL COMES FORWARD

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:09 pm

JESSICA ALBA’s on/off boyfriend CASH WARREN has threatened to sue U.S. tabloid the National Enquirer over a scandalous expose which claims he cheated on the sexy actress with a Russian model.
Just weeks after Warren and Alba reconciled, following a summer (07) split, their shaky romance has been hit with a bombshell.
Pretty blonde Vera Mishina tells the publication she spent a night partying with Warren in New York, and then a morning making love to the producer - only to discover she was just "a one-night stand" and her lover was already back with his famous ex.
The 20-year-old Russian passed a "rigorous" lie detector test before the Enquirer ran with her saucy expose, but that hasn’t stopped Warren from threatening to sue.
After Mishina gave the publication his cellphone number and a reporter called him to ask for a response to the model’s allegations, Warren fumed, "I advise you not to print that if you don’t wanna get sued. No comment." But the National Enquirer went ahead with Mishina’s story.
The model reveals, ""On the night he picked me up and got me into his bed, he was acting like the world’s biggest single man.
"But I found out that only hours after being with me, he was on a plane back to L.A., where he was then photographed having dinner with her (Alba) and acting affectionate." The spurned model adds, "If he had told me they had gotten back together there’s no way I would have allowed him to sleep with me. I now feel like all he wanted was a one-night stand. I feel used.
"Cash wasn’t very honest to lead me along like he did. Jessica may want to rethink taking him back. He cheated on her the minute he was away from her." Warren has hired a lawyer and denies the story.
