DEMAND FOR LED ZEPPELIN TICKETS CRASHES SITE

LATEST: LED ZEPPELIN’s announcement of a one-off reunion show has caused the concert’s official website to crash - as millions of fans across the world rush to register their names for the ticket ballot.
The band revealed on Wednesday (12Sep07) plans to reform for a special tribute concert for late music mogul Ahmet Ertegun, 27 years after they split.
But the unprecedented demand for the gig has resulted in Ahmettribute.com closing down within minutes of going live at 4pm, because fans are so desperate to enter the ballot for one of 18,000 tickets.
At a special press conference in London on Wednesday, promoter Harvey Goldsmith predicted Led Zeppelin’s reunion concert would cause "the largest demand for one show in history".
Tickets are priced at $250 (£125) and are limited to two per person. The ballot will be conducted after registration for the gig closes on Monday (17Sep07).
The concert - which will also feature sets by Pete Townshend, Bill Wyman and the Rhythm Kings, Foreigner and Paolo Nutini - will take place at London’s O2 Arena on 26 November (07).
Proceeds from ticket sales will go to the Ahmet Ertegun Education Fund which provides students with annual scholarships to universities in the U.K., USA and Turkey.
Ertegun died last December at the age of 82.
