Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 4:09 am

Late filmmaker GILLO PONTECORVO is to have a national archive established in his honour, Italian culture minister FRANCESCO RUTELLI announced at the Venice Film Festival on Thursday (06Sep07).
The Gillo Pontecorvo Archives will collect rare short films and documentaries shot by The Battle Of Algiers director, who passed away in October 2006, as well as letters, taped interviews and photographs.
Rutelli told the Venice Film Festival crowd, "He was a great innovator; a free creative spirit who guided this great institution and went on to work in a thousand different directions."
