WINEHOUSE ‘ROBBED’ OF MERCURY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:12 pm

AMY WINEHOUSE’s husband BLAKE FIELDER-CIVIL has hit out at judges of the Mercury Music Prize, insisting the singer was "robbed" of the $40,000 (£20,000) award.
The Rehab star made a surprise comeback appearance at Tuesday (04Sep07) night’s London awards ceremony, but the prestigious gong was eventually given to rockers the Klaxons.
Fielder-Civil says, "Amy was robbed. Who knows why they didn’t give her the award. But I was so proud of her for her performance.
"She’s really well and she doesn’t need to go back into rehab." The singer has been taking time out from her music career to focus on "health issues" following her August (07) hospitalisation after three days of hard-partying.

WINEHOUSE SETTLES COPYRIGHT CLAIM?

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:12 pm

British soul star AMY WINEHOUSE has settled a copyright infrigement case with songwriter/producer P*Nut, according to his lawyer.
P*Nut - real name John Harrison - claims he co-wrote Winehouse’s song He Can Only Hold Her with the Rehab star, but was not given appropriate credit in the sleeve notes on her sophomore album Back To Black.
But Harrison’s lawyer claims the two parties have now reached a suitable agreement, which will see Harrison given credit for the track, in addition to a share of the song’s copyright and payment of legal costs.
His attorney, Bob Page, says, "This represents a very satisfactory outcome for P*Nut, who considered his contribution to the song to be perfectly obvious.
"He was therefore extremely disappointed not to receive the credit he deserved on Amy’s album and furthermore at the extent of the resistance he encountered in securing his fair share of the copyright.
"Whilst Amy and her publishers took the matter to the brink, P*Nut is pleased that common sense has prevailed and he is now looking forward to seeing his contribution properly recognised on future exploitation of this song." However a spokesman for Winehouse’s label, Island Records, says he is not familiar with the case.

OSCAR NIGHT WAS BITTER SWEET FOR KIDMAN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:12 pm

NICOLE KIDMAN’s 2003 Oscar win was bitter sweet for the actress - because it was one of the loneliest nights of her life.
The Aussie movie star should have been celebrating, but instead, she was left without a date, trying her best to look happy.
She says, "It felt big. It felt lonely and big. You’re in a hotel and you’re like, ‘OK, well, I’m sitting in this big suite with an Oscar, and I still don’t have a life. What is wrong with me?’ "It hit home that I needed to get a life: ‘Who do I jump on the bed with, and celebrate with, and order pancakes with?’" She adds, "That was painful, not having that person to share it with."

BORRELL AND DUNST SPLIT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:09 pm

British rocker JOHNNY BORRELL has split from girlfriend KIRSTEN DUNST, because the Hollywood actress couldn’t stand the singer’s messy ways.
The couple had been dating since March (07), and Borrell had briefly moved into the Spider-Man star’s rented north London home, before they broke off their five-month romance in August (07).
And the Razorlight frontman admits it was his reluctance to help out with chores around the house which resulted in the split.
He says, "We were leading different lifestyles. It’s over. She believes in equality, that a bloke should chip in with the housework.
"Fair enough, but I’m messy. She couldn’t stand the smell of stale fags (cigarettes), beer and kebabs in her nice living room. Can’t say I blame her really.
"I’ve been incredibly busy recording our latest album and I’d be rolling in at all hours, when she’d be getting up to go on set. I’m very much a night owl, and she’s up with the lark. She’s a really cool girl and she loves London and Britain. It was just one of those things."

OWEN CONCERNED HE’S MISSING OUT ON FAMILY TIME

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:09 pm

Movie star CLIVE OWEN fears his successful career is costing him valuable family time - and one day his young daughters will be moving on and he’ll have missed their childhood.
The Closer star spends as much time as he can in between films with daughters Hannah, 10, and Eve, eight - but still worries it’s not enough.
He explains, "I’m away from home a lot, so my absolute priority when I’ve got any time off is to hang with them. That’s the most important thing.
"They grow up fast and I don’t want in 10 years time, when my daughter moves out into her first flat, to go, ‘What happened?’" Owen admits he’s also concerned that his kids don’t know what daddy does for a living - because they’re too young to see any of his films.
He adds, "Just look at my movies; you’d never let a kid watch them: ‘Hey Eve, my little eight-year-old, come and check out Closer, you’ll love it! Come and watch this sex scene with Monica Bellucci I did.’ I’d traumatise my little babies."

The prince had been enjoying a night out in London with his girlfriend Chelsy Davy when he became angered at the presence of the papparazzo.

HUDGENS WINS DISNEY BACKING

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:03 pm

LATEST: Bosses at Disney film studios have dismissed reports they have dropped HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL actress VANESSA HUDGENS following the circulation of nude photographs of the star online.
The 18-year-old’s candid mirror-image shots were intended for her boyfriend and High School Musical co-star Zac Efron’s eyes only - but an unknown third party stole the pictures and placed one on the internet.
Disney studios were then alleged to be firing Hudgens over the snaps, because the scandal had tarnished the teen’s squeaky-clean image.
But a representative for the company has denied the incident will have repurcussions on future casting decisions, and insists Hudgens’ apology to fans on Friday (07Sep07) proved her remorse.
The spokesperson says, "Vanessa has apologised for what was obviously a lapse in judgment."

CROWE: ‘DIRECTOR IGNORED MY ADVICE, CATTLE STAMPEDED WRONG WAY’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 4:15 am

Actor RUSSELL CROWE was left exasperated on the set of new western 3:10 TO YUMA when director JAMES MANGOLD tried to direct a herd of cattle, only for the cows to stampede in the wrong direction.
Crowe, who owns a cattle farm in Australia, watched as Mangold ignored his advice and the animals headed off into the wilderness not to return for two hours.
He says, "Working with the horses and the cattle weren’t his (Mangold’s) favourite moments. He had a cracker of a time at one point where Jim thought he was going to be able to stampede cattle and they would take a left turn just because that’s how he marked the path.
"I was trying to catch him. I said, ‘Jimmy, mate it don’t work that way. You stampede those cattle they’re gonna go up that hill, and we’re gonna be hanging around here for two hours getting the cattle down from the hill.’ "He goes, ‘No, but the path’s marked clearly.’ ‘It’s a f**king cow! It’s not gonna go around the corner like that. He said, ‘OK let’s see what happens.’ "We did see what happened. Bang bang they stampeded and up the bloody mountain they went, and two hours later we’re still twiddling our thumbs waiting for the cattle to come down from the top of the mountain."

McMAHON LIKES TO PUSH BOUNDARIES ON NIP/TUCK

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 4:12 am

Actor JULIAN McMAHON is so determined to make TV show NIP/TUCK as raunchy as possible, he volunteers to film scenes naked.
McMahon, who plays Dr. Christian Troy on the hit U.S. programme, likes to push the boundaries of what is acceptable on television as much as he can.
He says, "I don’t think this show is kinky enough, so I’m kind of trying to push for that kind of stuff consistently.
"For example, I did this thing yesterday that was scripted to do in my bathing suit - push-ups in the bathroom - and then I answer a phone call. I decided to do them on the deck naked.
"I just want to push things further. I feel like when we started on the show, we were pretty explicit and out there, and it maintained that to a certain extent, but now I feel like we have to reinvigorate that a little bit."
