BELGIAN BULLYING FILM TRIUMPHS AT MONTREAL
Belgian movie BEN X has been awarded three awards at the Montreal Film Festival in Canada, including the event’s top honour.
Nic Balthazar’s directorial debut garnered praise for its portrayal of a mildly autistic boy being bullied at school, winning the Audience Award, the festival’s Ecumenical Prize, and shared the Grand Prix of America’s prize.
French Director Claude Miller shared the Grand Prix of Americas prize with Balthazar for The Secret, the story of a Jewish family during World War II, at the festival which closed on Monday (03Sep07).
