MADONNA ADOPTION WELFARE OFFICIAL REPLACED
LATEST: MADONNA and husband GUY RITCHIE face another setback in the adoption process of Malawian tot DAVID BANDA - the welfare official overseeing the case has been replaced after "compromising" his position.
The Hollywood couple began adoption proceedings for the then-13-month-old baby in October (06) after spotting him in the Home Of Hope Orphan Care Center in Mchinji. He has been living with Madonna and Ritchie at their London home ever since.
The director of Malawi’s child welfare services, Penston Kilembe, was due to travel to London this week (04Sep07), to determine whether Banda can be officially adopted by the couple - but he has now been taken off the case after being accused of becoming "too cosy" with the stars.
He has been replaced by officer Simon Chisdale, who will visit Madonna and Ritchie over the next few days.
One official simply says, "The whole thing is being looked at with fresh eyes."
