Britain’s late Princess Diana was lusting after an American business tycoon while she was dating Dodi Fayed, a secret letter has revealed.
The princess, who was killed in a Paris car crash in August 1997 along with Dodi, wrote a note to her chauffeur Peter Burrows talking about her feelings for Wall Street trader Teddy Forstmann.
Diana’s letter written on paper headed with the crest of her royal London residence, Kensington Palace and dated July 7, 1997, read: ‘I know that you are delivering a parcel today, alas not an American!’ Borrows claims the note shows that Diana - who had a fling with Frostmann after she split from husband Prince Charles - was not serious about Dodi, whose father is Harrods boss Mohammed Al Fayed.
He told Britain’s News of the World: ‘I really knew what was happening at the time. It would show the truth about her relationship with Dodi.
‘I find it very interesting that people keep going on about Dodi, Dodi, Dodi. It’s fascinating when you know the truth. But I wouldn’t want to get on the wrong side of his father.’ The note is being auctioned for £265,000 by a memorabilia company.
This is not the first time Diana’s love for Frostmann had been discussed.
Two years ago Frostmann’s ex-girlfriend Debbie Hagerty slammed Diana for pursuing a relationship with him.
She said: ‘I was furious at Diana, much more so than at Teddy. For her to pursue my man for a sexual affair made me so angry. Teddy and I had been together for three years and we were talking of marriage. Now here was Diana looking for someone to provide her with the trappings she had got from Charles.’
