JACKSON: `BLACK SNAKE MOAN WAS PROMOTED BADLY’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 4:27 am

SAMUEL L. JACKSON is upset his movie BLACK SNAKE MOAN wasn’t a bigger hit at the box office, accusing studio bosses of marketing the film wrong.
The Pulp Fiction star is thrilled that the project, which also starred Christina Ricci and Justin Timberlake, is finding a new audience on DVD because the cinema release was a flop.
And Jackson, who played a blues man in the movie, is convinced the film was pitched wrong when it came out last year (06).
He says, "The movie didn’t make a lot of money but people discovered it on DVD and found out that it’s not really a movie about me making Christina Ricci my slave.
"They (studio bosses) sort of made it look like she was my little sex slave; she had a little torn shirt on and a big chain… It didn’t quite work out as well as we wanted it to." And though the film didn’t win any accolades, Jackson is hoping to land a Grammy Award for the six tunes he performed on the film’s soundtrack.
