BEATLES AGENT GERBER DEAD AT 82

ROY GERBER, the U.S. talent agent who represented the BEATLES when the Fab Four first arrived in America, has died at the age of 82.
Gerber was part of the General Artists Corp. in the early 1960s, and is largely responsible for overseeing the British group’s American successes.
He died of complications from a brain tumour at his home in Beverly Hills last week (21Aug07).
Gerber launched his career as an theatrical agent/manager in New York after World War Two and went on to represent stars like Tom Jones, Richard Pryor and Sid Caesar.
