TUNSTALL OFFERS SUPPORT TO YOUNG STARS
Singer KT TUNSTALL has offered her support for troubled stars such as AMY WINEHOUSE - and admits she turned to alcohol to cope with the "tremendous pressure" of fame.
The 32-year-old star concedes she began drinking heavily when she shot to fame in 2005, but believes her age stopped her developing a serious problem.
She says, "Being famous really messes with your head. I found it really weird and I started drinking heavily during that time, which was my way of trying to deal with it.
"Fortunately I didn’t get to the stage where the drinking got to be a problem. Sometimes I look at these young girl singers and think it must be so hard for them. I think the fact I was older helped me. These young girls have tremendous pressures placed on them, with people pulling them this way and that and telling them what’s right for them or what’s wrong for them."
