LATEST: VING RHAMES is planning to relocate his dogs, who were recently reported to have mauled his caretaker to death, to a friend’s estate in Canada - because keeping the animals in his care would leave him vulnerable to lawsuits.
The Pulp Fiction star’s caretaker and friend Jacob Adams, 40, died in front of Rhames’ Brentwood, California home earlier this month (Aug07).
While it was first reported Rhames’ dogs had mauled Adams to death, officials are now looking into the possibility Adams suffered either a heart attack or an aneurysm.
But whatever doctors decide was the cause of Adams’s death, Rhames knows he won’t be able to walk his pets freely again.
He tells website People.com, "God forbid that I’m outside with my dogs and they look at a person and the person wants to sue me."

Actress BROOKE SHIELDS has blamed the legal troubles of stars such as LINDSAY LOHAN, PARIS HILTON and NICOLE RICHIE on bad parenting.
Shields, who has two children and admits she’s a strict parent, believes Hollywood’s young celebrities would be better behaved if their mothers had brought them up properly.
The former child star says, "I think a lot of these girls are young, and it’s all so tempting. For some reason I wasn’t tempted. I don’t know why.
"Sometimes I wish I was a little more tempted to have a little more fun. But then I see them (young Hollywood female celebrities) and someone will ask, ‘Well, what do you want to say to so-and-so?’ I don’t want to say anything to them. I want to talk to their mothers."

A filmmaker is suing Hollywood star DAVID ARQUETTE and his company Coquette Productions Inc. for copyright infringement.
Legal papers filed by screenwriter Fritz Junker in Los Angeles on Thursday (16Aug07) claim recent movie The Tripper, which Arquette wrote, directed and starred in, ripped off the 2002 film The Truth About Beef Jerky.
The lawsuit states: "A reasonable audience presented with the two works would recognize The Tripper to be based upon The Truth About Beef Jerky." Both films tell the story of a psychopath who hunts down a bunch of hippies at a music festival in California.
Junker is seeking financial compensation of an amount to be determined at trial, reports website TMZ.com.

Illusionist CRISS ANGEL has dismissed reports he’s romantically involved with BRITNEY SPEARS, insisting he has been working with the pop superstar on her upcoming MTV Video Music Awards performance.
Angel, who recently dated Cameron Diaz, was spotted having dinner with Spears in Hollywood on Wednesday (15Aug07) night, before the pair headed into a nearby hotel.
But Angel - real name Christopher Sarantakos - claims Spears just wanted to discuss the possibility of using his magic skills in a possible performance at the MTV Video Music Awards ceremony in Las Vegas next month (Sep07).
He says, "It’s amazing what people think. We’re not together. Her manager is my manager, and I’m helping with one of her shows. I’m helping with her appearance on MTV.
"We were talking about how she wants to do something more with the (awards) show, and about me helping out and hoping to work with her on doing something to make her MTV appearance more innovative.
"It’s amazing how you can’t do anything now without people making up stuff."

LATEST: Actor VING RHAMES was "stunned" when he read that his caretaker had been mauled to death by his dogs, because the employee had looked after the animals for years.
Jacob Adams, 40, was pronounced dead in front of Rhames’ Brentwood, California home earlier this month (Aug07). He was first thought to be the victim of an attack by the Pulp Fiction star’s pets.
But officials have been unable to determine the cause of death, and are looking into the possibility Adams suffered either a heart attack or an aneurysm.
Rhames, who was filming in Bulgaria at the time of the incident, is awaiting the result of a toxicology report so he can start mourning his friend’s death.
He tells People.com, "My dogs are family dogs. Jacob didn’t have any bites on his face or neck. He had scratches to the middle of his torso as if the dogs were trying to pull him over.
"He had a few bite marks on his arms and legs, but there were only two imprints on the top and two on the bottom meaning the dogs didn’t clamp down on him in an aggressive fashion.
"There was such a lack of blood at the scene. They think possibly an aneurysm in the brain. They’re doing a toxicology report. They will know (the results) in six to eight weeks. Closure for me will be when the coroner says what was the cause of death." Rhames adds, "He was much more than a caretaker. He really became a member of the family… He was the person I could trust.
"If I was out of town, Jacob would take care of my properties. I was stunned because Jacob knew my dogs. He took care of them. When I found out, I was shocked, especially when I read that they said my dogs mauled him."

Rapper KANYE WEST has ditched the idea of multiple costume changes at the MTV Video Music Awards next month (Sep07) - he plans to wear the same outfit and "stink" like a rock star instead.
West has five nominations and wants to dazzle the Las Vegas awards ceremony with just one, well-selected set of clothes.
He tells MTV, "Whenever you see rock stars they just wear the same thing and it’s all sweaty and then you see them the next day and they stink. That’s the whole thing about being a rock star - you could wear the same outfit all week.
"So, I’m going to pick one extremely good outfit and just wear it the whole time. The (MTV) party is going to be too crazy, I won’t have time to change."

MANIC STREET PREACHERS rocker NICKY WIRE finds it difficult to understand how a band as "utterly deplorable" as SNOW PATROL can be so popular.
Wire will be keeping his distance from Snow Patrol at the V Festival shows in Chelmsford and Stafford in England this weekend (18/19Aug07), which Manic Street Preachers are also playing.
He tells website NME.com, "Snow Patrol is the biggest divide in Britain.
They’re probably the biggest band in Britain, but they’re also the most hated.
"It’s a weird dichotomy for them. They are utterly deplorable, there is something unredeemingly utterly s**t about them, you just cannot put one’s finger on.
"It’s a desperate form of music, the endless repeated lines, over and over, the same drab f**king little thing on and on and on.
"They’re the great losers turned into the great winners, that’s their redemption.

MOTLEY CRUE rocker NIKKI SIXX was so infuriated when a bottle of urine was thrown at singer VINCE NEIL during a gig, he punched the fan responsible backstage after the show.
Wildman Sixx stopped the concert and asked the audience to point out the person who threw the bottle, then arranged for security to allow the fan backstage, where he dished out his own justice.
When asked by American magazine Blender when the last time he punched someone was, Sixx replied, "On the 2005 tour, somebody threw a bottle of p**s and it hit Vince in the head. And I asked the audience to find him and bring him backstage.
"He was brought back, and I told the security guys to leave us alone. I had a word or two with him. And, yeah… he apologised."

Veteran jazz trumpeter HERB POMEROY has died after a long battle with cancer.
He was 77.
Born Irving Herbert Pomeroy III in Augustus, Georgia, he passed away at his home in Gloucester, Massachusetts on Saturday (11Aug07).
Best known for playing with jazz greats including Charlie Parker, Max Roach, Sonny Rollins and Stan Kenton, Pomeroy also backed Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett.
As well as performing, Pomeroy spent the last four decades teaching and founded the Massachusetts Institute Of Technology Festival Jazz Ensemble in 1963.

LIL WAYNE had been forced to delay his upcoming album THE CARTER III after a car parking attendant stole a copy from the rapper’s vehicle and leaked it on the internet.
Lil Wayne - real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. - was originally due to release his new disc this autumn (07), but decided to re-record some of the album after it showed up online.
He tells American magazine Blender, "I think the valet stole it. Never let another dude park your car when your CD’s in the stereo." The Carter III will now be released in early 2008.

A judge has permanently blocked the sale of master recordings made by former Sun Records artists including JOHNNY CASH, CARL PERKINS and JERRY LEE LEWIS, it was announced on Thursday (16Aug07).
The ruling was made by a federal judge in Chicago, Illinois on 23 July (07) after Sun Entertainment, which used to be Sun Records, took legal action to prevent the tapes being sold at auction in 2008.
Creative Sounds was planning to sell the recordings at Chicago auction house Ocean Tomo as part of a sale of 30,000 master recordings by artists including Willie Nelson and Frank Sinatra.
However, Sun Entertainment claimed ownership over the Sun Records tapes, and a judge issued a permanent injunction against Creative Sounds selling the recordings.
