LINDSAY LOHAN’s parents have been praised by the judge presiding over their divorce battle for finally settling their case.
The couple went their separate ways in December 2005, but a battle over joint assets and custody has drawn out the divorce almost two years after they originally split.
The divorce was made official on Friday (17Aug07), when Judge Robert Ross granted the Lohan divorce at Nassau Matrimonial Court in New York - and thanked the pair for their resolution of the issue.
He told the couple, "Mr and Mrs Lohan, you both demonstrated to me extraordinarily good judgment in resolving this matter as you did." The judgement doesn’t include custody of Lindsay Lohan’s two younger siblings Dakota, 11, and Aliana, 13, which will be decided in court in September (07).

Singer GWEN STEFANI has vowed to put her singing career with NO DOUBT before any plans to expand her family.
The Don’t Speak hitmakers have been on hiatus since 2003, although they recently announced plans to record a sixth studio album together - and Stefani insists she will record with the band imminently, despite the singer’s motherhood and solo career causing tension between her fellow bandmates.
She says, "I love being pregnant and I want more children but I’ve unfinished business with No Doubt first." Stefani gave birth to son Kingston last year (07), her first child with husband Gavin Rossdale.

American actor CHRISTIAN SLATER has slammed Hollywood - insisting people in the California district are "selfish".
The 38-year-old actor admits he now prefers life in London to that of Los Angeles, and has grown to love the British capital after working in the city on a number of projects, including a stint in West End stage Show One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest in 2004.
He says, "People in Hollywood can be selfish.
"I spend a lot of my time in London. My kids are in LA but work seems to be calling me from across the pond." Slater is returning to the London stage later this year (Oct07) in dark thriller Swimming With Sharks.

KELLY OSBOURNE is terrified of making her musical debut in CHICAGO next month (Sept07) - because she hasn’t been on stage since her school days The 22-year-old singer and reality TV star is playing jail matron Mama Morton in the show on London’s West End, but is worried her lack of experience will show in her performance.
She tells British newspaper The Sun, "I’m absolutely bricking it (terrified) because the only theatre I have ever done before this was my school play - and I was a windmill."

BRITNEY SPEARS is facing being dropped by her high-profile attorney LAURA WASSER.
Wasser has been representing the Toxic singer in her custody battle against ex-husband Kevin Federline, but reports allege the lawyer is seeking to drop Spears as a client over the legal wrangle.
TMZ.com reports Wasser has given Spears the details of other lawyers to help her through the custody battle which will decide the fate of sons Sean Preston, 23 months, and Jayden James, 10 months.
Spears was spotted fleeing her lawyer’s office in tears on Wednesday (15Aug07) after a meeting to discuss her custody battle with Federline.

Miss New Jersey AMY POLUMBO has embarked on a campaign to spread the message about web piracy after she faced losing her title over the issue.
The 22-year-old beauty queen posted racy photos of herself on social networking site Facebook, only to receive a threatening letter just weeks after winning her crown - jeopardising her claim to the Miss New Jersey crown.
In response to the letter, Polumbo went public and revealed the photos of herself on TV, but managed to keep her crown - and is now set to deliver two seminars about Internet safety to the Freshmen of Wagner College, Staten Island.
Speaking to the New York Daily News, she says, "Someone I considered to be a friend of mine, who had access to my ‘private’ networking site, tried to destroy my reputation.
"I now know first hand how easy it is for someone to take advantage of others online."

The first-ever retrospective of JAMES BOND creator IAN FLEMING’s life is set to open in London next year (08).
The exhibition, For Your Eyes Only: Ian Fleming And James Bond, will feature notes by the writer - who penned the original superspy books - on From Russia With Love, prototypes of flick-knife shoes worn by Rosa Klebb in the 1963 movie, and Halle Berry’s bikini from 2002’s Die Another Day.
The show’s organisers explain, "We are looking at the phenomenon that the films became, because they offer another way of looking at Fleming’s work. He has a sense of humour, he sleeps with far more woemn and he has much less of a conscience than the character on the page." For Your Eyes Only: Ian Fleming And James Bond will open at the Imperial War Museum in April (08) to coincide with Fleming’s centenary on 28 May (08).

Rocker JOEL MADDEN has reportedly issued the paparazzi with a warning not to photograph him with women who aren’t NICOLE RICHIE - in a bid to avoid rumours the couple are on the verge of breaking up.

Filmmaker NESYA SHAPIRO BLUE is suing the bosses of website Amazon.com after they incorrectly listed her as the director of two porn movies.
Blue claims she lost thousands in business opportunities because Amazon’s IMDB.com database named her as the director of adult films Fantasy in Blue and Dreams of Candace Heart. Those films were made by director Nancy Blue.
In papers filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, New York the non-porn moviemaking Blue alleges her reputation has been "severely tarnished" and she’s seeking $2.15 million (£1 million) in damages.
Ironically, Nesya Shapiro Blue worked on the documentary Against Pornography.

KISS rocker GENE SIMMONS and his longtime partner SHANNON TWEED have turned photographers for Playboy’s website.
The couple has signed on to become Playboy.com’s latest celebrity guest photographers - as part of a challenge on reality TV series Gene Simmons Family Jewels.
Simmons and Tweed, a former Playboy Playmate, photographed Miss April 2001 Katie Lohman as part of a session on Friday (17Aug07), Publisher Hugh Hefner will decide who took the best shots of the pin-up.
If Tweed wins, Simmons will be forced to attend his sister-in-law’s upcoming Las Vegas wedding.

British police have warned performers at this weekend’s (18-19Aug07) V Festivals in England there will be a "zero-tolerance" policy on drugs - with backstage searches for illegal substances planned.
The event, which is taking place across two venues in Chelmsford, Essex, and Hylands Park, Staffordshire, will see the likes of the Foo Fighters, Iggy Pop, Lily Allen and Pete Doherty taking to the stage.
But Superintendent Tim Spokes, of Essex police, has issued a warning to stars they will not be exempt from a venue-wide crackdown on drug taking.
He says, "We have sniffer dogs who will patrol the site, including behind the stage and in artist backstage areas.
"We hope to operate a crime-free event as far as possible." Rehab singer Amy Winehouse was due to perform at the event, but cancelled late on Thursday (16Aug07), citing exhaustion.

Veteran British rocker GLENN TILBROOK has offered his support for today’s troubled stars - but insists BABYSHAMBLES star PETE DOHERTY is "an idiot".
The Squeeze star is adamant young celebrities are under immense pressure when they are thrust into the spotlight, and admits it’s easy to spiral out of control.
He says, "That first flush of fame is like being put in a spin dryer. It is like everything and nothing you ever wanted. Very few performers are in control of their career." But Tilbrook believes troubled musician Doherty - who has been battling heroin addiction for several years - needs to give up the "romantic" habit in order to realise his full creative potential.
He adds, "There was a romantic myth about heroin. But Doherty is a talented guy who needs to shape out. At the moment he is an idiot."

A gig by LIL’ WAYNE is under threat after a local councillor in Baltimore, Maryland slammed the rapper’s ‘obscene’ lyrics and criminal past.
The performance at the Baltimore Du Burns Arena on Saturday (18Aug07), will see the star - real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr - on stage with fellow hip-hop star Juelz Santana.
But Baltimore Democratic candidate Donald J. Dewar III has issued a letter to the city’s mayor Sheila Dixon, calling for the event to be cancelled - with the venue’s one-day liquor license revoked, reports AllHipHop.com.
Dewar writes, "This building is in a residential neighborhood", adding, "(the concert) "doesn’t belong in a neighborhood like this. It belongs in a high-density area."

DIRTY PRETTY THINGS rocker CARL BARAT has been given the green light to perform a unique gig in a London prison in aid of a suicide-awareness charity.
The concert, organised by Wasted Youth, will see Barat play a three-song acoustic set beside the cells in the capital’s Pentonville Prison, before joining Dirty Pretty Things for a performance with fellow English rockers The Enemy in the jail’s chapel.
A spokesperson for Barat says, "They (Wasted Youth) asked Carl to do it and told us how many young males are killing themselves every year, especially in prisons. It was a case of ‘Hang on, what can we do about it?’" Wasted Youth, organised by entertainment journalist Dan Fulvio, plans to raise awareness of suicide - and hopes to encourage men to talk about their problems - following the death of Fulvio’s 22-year-old brother Steven last year (06).
He says, "Steven dying came as a complete shock. There’s an ingrained view in young men that talking about personal pressures is a sign of weakness. Being silent isn’t being strong; it’s damaging." Troubled Babyshambles rocker Pete Doherty was lined up for the one-off gig, but his performance was vetoed by the U.K. Prison Service over fears he would detract from Wasted Youth’s message.
The gig will take place on 27 August (07).

Actress JESSICA BIEL has again quashed speculation she’s hoping to wed her new boyfriend JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, insisting the "paperwork of marriage" is not for her.
