BRITNEY SPEARS’ former assistant SHANNON FUNK has dismissed allegations she arranged for a video shoot extra to seduce the pop superstar in a drunken pool party.
Last month (Jul07), Matt Encinias claimed he joined Spears in a topless pool frolic at a Los Angeles hotel after a day spent shooting her new single Give Me More - and had the pictures to prove it.
But Encinias’ ex-girlfriend Ashlee Krol now claims he conspired with Funk to get photos of a topless Spears to sell to tabloid newspaper - a charge Funk flatly denies.
Krol tells American tabloid the National Enquirer, "He and Britney’s former assistant Shannon Funk worked together… and they’re best friends.
"When Shannon was mad at Britney, I think she and Matt set up a plan to make money off her.
"Shannon arranged for Matt and his crew to get into the Bedlam Gallery while Britney was filming a bar scene there. Then she arranged for the guys to follow her and Britney back to The Standard hotel where they were staying.
"There they encouraged Britney to get involved in a wild poolside party where, after drinking mojitos, Britney was encouraged to strip topless. Then they took photos of Matt kissing Britney and groping her and then all went up to Britney’s suite.
"Britney’s naive and didn’t realise she was being set up." But Funk denies the allegations as "completely false information".
She adds, "I didn’t know Matt. Britney is a friend of mine. I wouldn’t sell her out for any amount of money."
