BATTLE FOR SOCIALITE ASTOR’S ESTATE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:53 pm

A signature on the will of late New York socialite BROOKE ASTOR may have been forged, putting the rights to her estate in jeopardy.
A criminal investigation into a signature on an amendment in Astor’s will was launched by Manhattan district attorney’s office on Tuesday (14Aug07).
The investigation was triggered after Astor’s son, Anthony Marshall, was accused of not caring for Astor properly and allowing her to live in squalor.
Marshall’s own son, Philip Marshall, has further accused his father of spending millions of dollars of Astor’s money without her knowledge. It has been alleged a signature which hands over Astor’s $65 million (£32.5 million) fortune to her son may be fraudulent.
The real estate heiress died of pneumonia at her New York home on Monday (13Aug07), aged 105.
