MELANIE BROWN’S MOTHER: ‘MARRIAGE IS A BIG MISTAKE’
SPICE GIRL MELANIE BROWN’s recent secret marriage to STEPHEN BELAFONTE is a big mistake, according to her mother.
Andrea Brown was shocked to discover her daughter had married film producer Belafonte in June (07) and believes she is suffering from post-natal depression.
Andrea says, "Melanie’s not the sort to be taken in by anyone, but her hormones were all over the place after the baby. Maybe Stephen came along at just the right time and said all the right things.
"I need to speak to her, but she won’t answer my calls because she knows what I’m going to say." Last week, it emerged Belafonte has a criminal record for hitting the mother of his child, ex-partner Nicole Contreras.
