DANES TURNS SCHWARZENEGGER INTO A BAR MITZVAH HIT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:14 pm

California Governor ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER is in demand at bar mitzvahs after agreeing to send a videotaped message to the nephew of TERMINATOR 3 co-star CLARE DANES’ ex BEN LEE.
The teenager was thrilled when he received personalised greetings from Schwarzenegger, made possible by the actress’ connections to the action man.
But Danes didn’t realise that her actions would spark a huge interest in bar mitzvah messages from the Terminator.
She says, "He did this little video… which was very sweet. Then of course everyone was asking how to get a hold of Arnold’s people to do it for their bar mitzvah."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:08 pm

Oscar winner JODIE FOSTER can only take on one harrowing film role a year because it takes her so long to recover from playing troubled characters.
In her new film, The Brave One she plays a vigilante who turns on criminals after thugs kill her partner in a New York park, and she admits the role took an awful toll on her.
She tells More magazine, "Whether I like to admit it or not - and usually I don’t like to admit it - the stuff I do affects me. It’s this strange lonely thing.
"It’s hard to explain what it is to lie in a pool of fake blood for four days and just be thinking those thoughts. There’s a real sadness to it. So I don’t want to do that more than once a year."

HAWLEY STILL SUFFERS FROM STAGE FRIGHT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:05 pm

British singer/songwriter RICHARD HAWLEY still finds performing live a struggle, despite more than 10 years in the music business.
Hawley found fame with British band The Longpigs in the 1990s and embarked on a solo career in 2000. But despite his years of experience and huge critical acclaim - culminating in last year’s (06) Mercury Music Prize nomination - he still battles severe stage fright.
He says, "I still get nervous. I s**t myself before gigs. That’s why I talk loads of s**te between songs.
"Although I’ve been doing it since I were (sic) a kid, I just didn’t have the prerequisite ego to be a singer. I just got to a point where I’d got so many songs that the weight of them pushed me to do it." (SH/WNTSU/MEH) WENN - SECOND - HOLLYWOOD, SHOWBIZ & PEOPLE NEWS -11 AUGUST 2007

CURRINGTON BLASTS BAD DAD IN NEW SONG

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:02 pm

Country star BILLY CURRINGTON has penned a vicious new tune about his alcoholic stepdad after realising how his childhood was tainted by the bully in therapy.
The Whole Lot More hitmaker thought his past was behind him until a severe bout of laryngitis almost ended his musical career - and forced him to seek counselling for demons that were making him ill.
Currington, who duetted with Shania Twain on her hit Party For Two, tells People magazine he lived with Larry Currington for the first seven years of his life and suffered regular alcohol-fuelled beatings.
And the abuse didn’t stop when Currington’s mother left his stepdad - because the "alcoholic who had no heart at all" still picked on Billy when the family came to visit.
Therapy made Currington realise his stepfather’s actions had left him scarred for life - and helped him understand a number of flaws in his own character, including a terrible temper.
He says, "My challenge in life is my anger." But coming face to face with his deep issues cost Currington a great deal he lost his voice, cancelled a tour, checked into a trauma recovery programme and parted with his band. Even his girlfriend left him because she couldn’t deal with what Currington was going through.
"Since treatment, I have no attachments left, other than my record company.
"After I’m done recording my third album, I leave for Hawaii to work with two therapists who specialise in childhood trauma. I’m on a mission to break the generational curse of abuse."

STARS PAY TRIBUTE TO FACTORY RECORDS BOSS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:02 pm

LATEST: Music stars have paid tribute to TONY WILSON, who died on Friday (10AUG07).
The Factory Records co-founder, who managed groups like Joy Division, New Order and Happy Mondays, had been battling kidney cancer.
Wilson was taken to Manchester’s Christie Hospital on Sunday night (05Aug07) after suffering a heart attack. He failed to recover and died on Friday (10Aug07).
Former Happy Mondays manager Phil Saxe says, "Part of me, part of Manchester, part of modern British music has died tonight." "He was a visionary in that he helped bands, who otherwise wouldn’t have made it, who were a bit out of the ordinary. He helped them realise their dreams and through that probably realised himself to be Mr Manchester." Former Joy Division and New Order drummer Stephen Morris has also spoken of Wilson’s important role in his career, saying, "There would be no Joy Division or New Order without Tony. He really believed in us and he was smart enough to start a label and put our records out.
"He was so enthusiastic, he was always, ‘We’ll just go ahead an do it and figure out why we did it afterwards’. It was his spirit of enthusiasm that steam-rollered things through and it’s why we put up with him for so long. "You could have an argument with Tony and walk out hating him and the next time you saw him it was all forgotten. You just love him."

LOHAN A `MODEL PATIENT’ IN REHAB

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 4:14 am

Troubled actress LINDSAY LOHAN has been dubbed "a model patient" by insiders at the Utah rehab clinic she checked into earlier last month (Jul07), despite claims to the contrary.
In a U.S. TV exclusive which aired on Friday’s (10Aug07) Entertainment Tonight, a silhouetted former Cirque Lodge patient suggested the actress is getting celebrity treatment from carers and is difficult with staff.
But TMZ.com claims the opposite is true, according to their sources.
Insiders at the Oren, Utah clinic, considered one of the best rehabs in America, claim Lohan is taking her third counselling camp stint of 2007 very seriously, attending every meeting, working with psychologists and even agreeing to take on menial tasks she’s handed.
These include washing dishes and cleaning toilets.
TMZ.com sources claim the woman who took her claims about Lohan to the media dropped out of a sister clinic "against medical advice" days after the actress checked herself in and would only have had access to her through meetings.
