BIEL CRAVES ‘VOLLEYBALL’ LEGS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:41 pm

Hollywood beauty JESSICA BIEL wishes she could have "volleyball players’ legs" to improve her most hated body part.
The Blade: Trinity star, who has been named one of the sexiest women alive by men’s magazines, insists she would love her legs to be "leaner and longer." She says,"Clearly I don’t wake up and go, ‘Woh, I’m the sexiest woman alive.’ "My least favourite part is my legs. They could be longer or leaner, but mine are not defined - and they never will be. I just have to come to terms with the fact that I’ll never have volleyball player legs."

HOPKINS: ‘GOLDEN VOICE SAVED ME FROM ALCOHOLISM’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:38 pm

Former alcoholic SIR ANTHONY HOPKINS stopped drinking after he was rescued by a ‘golden voice’ from his subconscious.
The Oscar-winning actor, admits quitting alcohol in 1975 was a lucky escape.
He says, "For me, giving it (alcohol) up was finding the airlock, the escape hatch. It all happened one Monday morning in 1975. It was as if a voice said, ‘Ready! Go!’ It was that clear, the voice of gold. The best part of myself, my subconscious, came to rescue me. I don’t know how. I had no religious connection or a connection to what I thought was God.
"And then that Monday: Boom. And it was over. It was like a great pilot light was lit. No explanation except, I guess, I was open, willing and ready. When I look back I think I was so lucky to get out of that one. It was all about fear and horror. Definitely the horror - going down the plughole."

PALTROW COERCED INTO BIG BUDGET MOVIE BY DOWNEY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:38 pm

GWYNETH PALTROW had to be convinced into signing to star into forthcoming movie IRON MAN by ROBERT DOWNEY JR, after he declared it was time she shunned low-budget, independent movies for a huge blockbuster.
In the last few years, Paltrow has passed over roles in big movies to star in low-key releases Proof, Sylvia and Possession.
It was only after Downey told her there was nothing wrong with starring in a blockbuster, Paltrow agreed to play Virginia ‘Pepper’ Potts.
She says, "Robert called me and he said, ‘This is gonna be fun, and this is gonna be good.’ And then he said to me, ‘Don’t you want to be in a movie that people see?’ And I was like, Whoa! What would that feel like? "And he’s right. Moviemaking is not supposed to be a masturbatory exercise; it’s supposed to be shared by other people."

EFRON URGES McCONAUGHEY TO STAY AWAY FROM THE BEACH

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:38 pm

Teen heart-throb ZAC EFRON has urged MATTHEW McCONAUGHEY to stay away from the beach, because his tabloid persona is overtaking his movie career.
The Hairspray star, 19, likes to keep quiet about his personal life, as he doesn’t want what he does in private to detract from his acting.
He tells Rolling Stone magazine, "A lot of problems you see people having in this business is that is becomes about their personal lives and not about their work.
"Matthew McConaughey has singlehandedly funded the tabloid magazines for the past two years now. If he would put on a shirt and just get away from the beach, maybe there would be a few less paparazzi around.
"As long as I stay boring, I think I’ll be fine." While other young stars have been admitted to rehab and attracted bad publicity for their incessant partying, Efron makes sure he stays away from the Hollywood hotspots.
He says, "I’m the same age as some other people who are dealing with scandals. I’ve got friends out here, and we do what kids our age are doing. We don’t need people taking photos of us."

Despite an impressive 18-minute display, Galaxy were beaten 1-0.
Beckham said after the match, "It was a good night, but it was also a bad night. Obviously there’s been pressure because everyone is talking about how I’ve not played yet. But I don’t feel pressure in that sense."

DIRECTOR WRIGHT RESENTED THE END OF THE AFFAIR

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:35 pm

Director JOE WRIGHT has slammed NEIL JORDAN for his adaptation of THE END OF THE AFFAIR.
The 35-year-old director "resented" the filmmaker for his 1999 adaptation of Graham Greene’s novel - as he believes Jordan destroyed the original text.
He says, "It was a fantastic film, and very faithful to the novel up to a certain point and then they took a complete left turn and I really resented them for it." And Pride and Prejudice director Wright insists he took a careful approach to his big-screen adaptation of Ian McEwan’s novel Atonement.
He adds, "My policy when adapting a book is, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
Perhaps even more importantly you have to be faithful to the atmosphere of the book - the feeling you get when you put the book down and think about it."

ZETA-JONES: ‘ACTING IS A HOBBY’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:35 pm

Welsh movie star CATHERINE ZETA-JONES insists acting is merely a hobby for her - and would be able to cope if she never appeared on the big screen again.
The Legend of Zorro actress, 37, who reportedly earned $8 million (£4 million) in 2002 for her role as Velma Kelly in Chicago, is aware her career may falter when she turns 40.
She says, "Everything I do with my acting is a bonus. It’s like a hobby. I’m not one of those people who are so self-centred that they just have to do it.
"I do the best I can with my work and when I hit 40, maybe things won’t change. If (my career) falters, that’s fine by me. I just think it’s good I’m aware of the possibility of that." The actress, who lives in Bermuda with her husband of six years (Nov00) Michael Douglas, divides her time between the family home, holidays and her charity work.
She adds, "I’m very philanthropic and I like investing. I love that part of my life."

VALO SLAMS FINNISH SMOKING BAN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:32 pm

Rocker VILLE VALO has hit out at a smoking ban in his native Finland, branding the policy "c**ty".
The Him frontman is disappointed by the government’s decision to bar smoking in public places - including the country’s restaurants and bars - which came into effect on 1 June this year (07).
But chain-smoking Valo insists he will use his status as a celebrity to flout the ban - by claiming the habit "is part of his artistic licence".
He says, "I would rise to the barricades just for the fact that it’s such a c**nty idea! "I understand totally if restaurants where you eat would be totally smoke free. But imagine you can’t sit at the pub, smoke a fag and meet new people? What the f**k are you going to do? Onstage it doesn’t really matter because I have the artistic licence of claiming that it’s part of my performance. I’ll just build it my own bar at home. You can smoke wherever you want in my bar!"

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:29 pm

AMY WINEHOUSE is struggling to cope with her new found fame, according to fellow singer NATALIE IMBRUGLIA.
Winehouse has hit headlines in recent weeks with a string of cancelled gigs and a spell in hospital on Thursday (09Aug07) reportedly caused by exhaustion.
A number of British newspapers suggest the star may have suffered a drug overdose and is heading for rehab.
Imbruglia sympathises with Winehouse, and implores with her not to stick with her singing career.
She says,"I think she’s an incredibly raw performer and a very real person and I don’t think she’s very comfortable with this whole fame thing. It shows.
"She’s just got this gift you know, often people who are that talented struggle with all the attention and everything. And I hope she doesn’t quit.

SCORSESE’S ROLLING STONES FILM DELAYED

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:29 pm

The release of movie mogul MARTIN SCORSESE’s ROLLING STONES documentary has been delayed to allow the band the chance to promote it properly.
The director flew to Italy last month (Jul07) to screen a rough cut of Shine A Light to the band, which is currently touring Europe.
Insiders claim the Stones were very happy with the finished film, but feared plans to release it on 21 September (07) would give them very little time to promote the project - just a month after their last tour date.
So, the film will now hit cinemas next April (07).
Shine A Light features footage of the group’s invite-only performances at New York’s Beacon Theatre last year (06) and features guest appearances from Jack White and Christina Aguilera.

AT&T APOLOGISE FOR PEARL JAM CENSORSHIP

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:26 pm

LATEST: American communications firm AT&T has apologised to PEARL JAM and their fans after the group’s performance at Illinois festival Lollapalooza was censored on Sunday (05Aug07).
The rockers were singing a cover of Pink Floyd’s Another Brick In The Wall and changed a few lines to criticise the U.S. President, saying, "George Bush, leave this world alone," and "George Bush find yourself another home".
However, for fans watching the live webcast of the Chicago concert, the band were muted during those lyrics.
Pearl Jam wrote on their website earlier this week (ends10Aug07); "If a company that is controlling a webcast is cutting out bits of our performance not based on laws, but on their own preferences and interpretations - fans have little choice but to watch the censored version." Michael Coe, spokesman for AT&T, has admitted the censor made a mistake in silencing the anti-Bush lyrics and was making sure the webcast production company did not repeat the error in future. He added AT&T were planning to release an uncensored version of the song on their website.
