ROBERTS UNDERGOES CANCER SURGERY
LATEST: U.S. news anchor ROBIN ROBERTS has undergone "very successful" surgery to remove a cancerous growth from her breast.
The Good Morning America presenter, who announced she was suffering from the disease on the breakfast show earlier this week (beg30Jul07), was operated on by doctors in New York on Friday (03Aug07).
Roberts, 47, admitted she was inspired to go for a cancer screening following the death of her co-host Joel Siegel, who passed away from colon cancer last month (Jun07).
