F1 champ loses licence
A Brazilian Formula One champion has been sent to a driving awareness school after he repeatedly got caught for speeding.
Nelson Piquet, who won the motor racing championship three times, lost his licence after picking up too many penalty points.
He now must attend a week-long course and pass an exam before getting it back.
Piquet - whose wife Viviane also has to attend the classes after losing her licence - said: "I think we have to pay for our mistakes, It’s not just a speeding problem, I got tickets for all kinds of reasons, like parking where I shouldn’t.
"We’re going to make good use of this course and learn something." The 54-year-old had been seen speeding around the streets of Brasilia in various high-performance cars, including a BMW convertible.
