RICHARDS SIGNS $7 MILLION BOOK DEAL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:32 pm

ROLLING STONES rocker KEITH RICHARDS has signed a $7 million (£3.5 million) deal to pen his autobiography, according to reports.
The 63-year-old guitarist will team up with close friend and author of White Mischief, James Fox to write the tome, which is due to be released in 2010.
The book is expected to document Richards’ rise from choirboy to rocker and will include anecdotes from his career, including falling out of a palm tree in Fiji in April last year (06).
He is also tipped to reveal the truth behind speculation he snorted his late father’s ashes.
New York-based publisher Little, Brown and Co. have partnered with Britain’s Weidenfeld & Nicolson to secure worldwide English-language rights.
Michael Pietsch of Little, Brown says, "Keith Richards has stood cool at the center of the hurricane for nearly fifty years. "His story, in his own words - the band, the songs, the tours, the life will be the most eagerly awaited book ever to come out of the hallowed halls of rock and roll." Richards becomes the second member of the band to write his memoirs, following former bassist Bill Wyman, who wrote Stone Alone in 1990. Singer Mick Jagger also attempted to write an autobiography, but quickly got bored and abandoned the project.
