QUAID AGREES TO LAST DETAIL SEQUEL, IF NICHOLSON APPEARS
Veteran actor RANDY QUAID has agreed to reprise his role as a sailor in a belated sequel to THE LAST DETAIL - but only if co-star JACK NICHOLSON returns as well.
Quaid was nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his performance in the 1973 drama, and he is keen to shoot author Darryl Ponicsan’s contemporary sequel Last Flag Flying.
He says, "I’d have to do it with Jack. I wouldn’t want to do it with anybody else." In the original, directed by legendary filmmaker Hal Ashby, Nicholson and late actor Otis Young play sailors given the task of escorting a thieving seaman, played by Quaid, to prison in Boston, Massachusetts.
School Of Rock Richard Linklater is set to direct the follow-up.
