Sword fright
A Japanese magician was left seriously injured when a dangerous sword trick went wrong.
Princess Tenko was trapped in a box by 10 metal swords during a show and broke several ribs and injured her cheek.
The illusionist was supposed to escape from the box the moment it was speared by 10 fake metal swords, but instead was pinned inside.
Her manager Norboru Ochiai said: "She is suffering tremendous pain but is more shocked that she had to call off performances.
"She would have been stuck in her right eye if it were one centimetre higher.
"It will take a month to heal the wounds." Although she was in pain, the star continued her performance for 30 minutes before the show was called off.
