BRITNEY SPEARS has suffered another breakdown on the set of her new music video, with production grinding to a halt after she began "sobbing hysterically" during a pole dance routine, according to reports.
The troubled pop star was shooting the video for her new single Give Me More in Los Angeles last Wednesday (25Jul07), but had been holding up filming with her unwillingness to co-operate with the crew while taking hour-long breaks in between production.
Onlookers claim Spears - dressed in a black leather waistcoat, black hot pants and fishnet tights - appeared "disorientated" throughout the shoot, before becoming paranoid when she performed her sexy dance routine.
A source tells British newspaper the News of the World, "Britney was completely uncooperative and left everyone hanging about when she went for an hour’s massage - twice.
"She was rude and she chain-smoked and drank an enormous amount of Red Bull (energy drink) throughout the shoot.
"She had a problem with the extras watching her pole dance (and) suddenly she was in floods of tears. It was sad to witness." The latest reports follow last week’s (24Jul07) revelations about her disastrous interview and photoshoot with America’s OK! magazine, during which the pop star mopped up dog poop with a Chanel dress and expressed fears her ceiling was about to collapse.

BRITNEY SPEARS and KEVIN FEDERLINE will officially divorce on Monday (30Jul07), according to breaking U.S. reports.
The pop superstar’s lawyer, Laura Wasser, and her estranged husband’s attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, started proceedings at Los Angeles County Superior Court on Monday morning (30Jul07).
TMZ.com reports Wasser will make a motion to keep the custody and spousal support orders secret.
Insiders claim the custody will stay at 50/50, despite recent claims Federline is pushing to win full custody of his sons as a result of Spears’ recent erratic behaviour - she stripped to her underwear for an afternoon swim in the Pacific Ocean and walked away from a magazine interview with thousands of dollars worth of clothes and accessories.

Actor JOHNNY DEPP is bringing HUNTER S. THOMPSON’s autobiographical novel THE RUM DIARY to the silver screen - seven years after he was announced as the leading man.
Depp was cast to play the role of Thompson in 2000, co-starring with Nick Nolte in the tale of a journalist’s adventures as he moves from New York to a San Juan newspaper in Puerto Rico.
Benicio Del Toro and Josh Harnett were also appointed to star in the movie in 2002, but the actors, including Nolte, are no longer involved in the film.
The revived project will now be produced by Depp and The Departed filmmaker Graham King - who has acquired the full rights to the book.
The Rum Diary will be penned and directed by Withnail & I writer Bruce Robinson, with shooting expected to begin after Depp finishes filming his current movie, Shantaram with Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan.

PARIS HILTON and NICOLE RICHIE are out of a job after news their hit reality show THE SIMPLE LIFE has been axed.
The wealthy socialites proved a huge hit trying their hand at manual labour on the programme - which spawned five series - but The Insider reports network E! has dropped the show from next year’s (08) line-up.
Rumours of an imminent end began when Fox dropped the series in 2005 and Hilton and Richie became embroiled in a mystery feud.
The girls’ turbulent personal lives continued to complicate filming, culminating in Hilton’s imprisonment for a probation violation in June (07) and reports Richie is expecting a baby.

Actress REBECCA ROMIJN is suffering from post-wedding depression after her intimate nuptials with funnyman JERRY O’CONNELL.
The couple decided to take their honeymoon before they wed, leaving little excitement after the small ceremony on 14 July (07).
She says, "We both had the day off Tuesday, and we were driving around going ‘What do we get ready for now?’ And then we realised we both were starting to suffer from post-wedding depression.
"And the good news is, when you have to go back to work, you jump right back into your routine and that’s that."

Academy-award winning director WOODY ALLEN’s new film CASSANDRA’S DREAM will get a U.K. release, his spokesman has confirmed.
The drama, which stars Ewan McGregor and Colin Farrell as brothers, will not follow in the footsteps of the filmmaker’s 2005 cinematic offering Scoop which failed to make British cinemas.
Cassandra’s Dream has received glowing reviews after a secret screening in Oviedo, Spain, last month (18Jun07), and the movie will officially premiere at the Venice film festival in August (07).
Cassandra’s Dream will hit U.K. cinemas early next year (08).

LATEST: American TV host ELISABETH HASSELBECK has waded into discussions over her new co-host, tipping WHOOPI GOLDBERG for the job.
The View presenter is seeking a new colleague on the talk show after Rosie O’Donnell quit the show after a war of words earlier this year (07).
Her replacement is speculated to be either Sherri Shepherd or Whoopi Goldberg, and Hasselbeck already knows who she’d prefer after the Sister Act actress guest hosted recently.
Hasselbeck says, "I loved working with Whoopi Goldberg. She is soulful, has a world of experience to bring to the table, and I don’t sense any sort of political agenda.
"She is so funny, but at the same time, she is one of the most thoughtful people that I’ve met." Asked if programme creator Barbara Walters is also a fan, Hasslebeck said, "You’d have to ask Barbara. But I’m sure she is. Who isn’t into Whoopi? She’s an amazing person."

J.K. ROWLING’s final HARRY POTTER installment has won its first prize nomination - after just one week on sale.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is nominated in the Best Book category at the first Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards U.K., set to take place in London in October (07).
Daniel Radcliffe, who plays Harry Potter in the movie series, is also nominated in the Best Movie Actor category.
The news caps a magical few days for Rowling after her latest literary effort became the fastest-selling book in U.K. history after 2,652,656 copies sold in its first 24 hours on 21 July (07).

Acting legend JOHN WAYNE has been honoured with a statue at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma.
A larger-than-life bronze statue of the Academy Award-winning star measuring eight feet and eight inches (2.68 metres) in height - was unveiled on Saturday (28Jul07) with two of Wayne’s grandchildren, Anita LaCaba Swift and Nick Kuhle, present at the ceremony.
Swift says, "It’s always an amazing thing for our family whenever we get to be out among his fans because he’s almost been dead for 30 years, but there are 3-year-old children who come up to me and tell me how much they love him." Kuhle adds, ""It’s just incredible. It was great to have an icon like that as your grandfather." The tribute is to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the year of Wayne’s birth. He died in 1979 of stomach cancer.

LATEST: American comedian ROB SCHNEIDER has brushed off criticism from DINA LOHAN over his TV portrayal of her troubled daughter LINDSAY, branding her a "crummy" mummy.
Lindsay was due to appear on The Tonight Show just hours after she was detained by police for DUI last Tuesday night (24Jul07). Schneider stood in, dressed as the actress, and subsequently became the target of an email rant from Dina.
In her missive to Access Hollywood, Dina wrote, "We are disappointed… (host Jay Leno) chose to allow a guest to make light of a very serious situation concerning Lindsay.
"This is a very personal and private matter and our only concern is to get Lindsay the help that she needs." But Schneider is unperturbed by the angry response, saying, "When Mrs. Lohan stops partying with her child, then I’ll have an ounce of respect for her." And he was equally unsympathetic about Lindsay’s plight, adding, "I don’t care if her parents are both crummy - you cannot blame your parents anymore.
She’s not a kid.
"I hope she does okay but at a certain point, there’s so many bigger problems in the world than Lindsay Lohan. I hope she gets her head out of her nice, cute little rear end and finds a life for herself.

Veteran crooner ANDY WILLIAMS has hit out at his womanising reputation, insisting he’s been a faithful and devoted husband for years.
The 79-year-old wed second wife Debbie Haas in 1991 and complains being branded a lothario is hurtful and untrue - and was so even before he married.
He says, "I had a reputation. Everyone thought I slept with all the girls I ever went out with, all the girls who came on my show. But, of course, that wasn’t true. I was never that big a womaniser. British pop stars the SUGABABES will battle it out with GIRLS ALOUD and boyband McFLY for the Best Band gong at the first ever Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards UK later this year (07).
The three groups are nominated alongside American rockers Fall Out Boy for the category, while fellow U.S. stars Justin Timberlake and Drake Bell are up for the Best Male Singer award against Grace Kelly singer Mika and McFly’s Danny.
Pop stars Avril Lavigne, Gwen Stefani and Hilary Duff will be battling it out for the title of Best Female Singer, while Girls Aloud’s Cheryl Cole will also compete in the category, having been singled out for her vocal talents.
Meanwhile, kids film favourites Shrek The Third, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and new release The Simpsons Movie are all up for the Best Movie category.

The rapper was rumoured to be in negotiations with Columbia - home to Carter’s girlfriend Beyonce - following the appointment of superproducer/performer Jermaine Dupri as the president of the label’s urban music division in February this year (07).

The singer-turned-actress, 22, will play Mama Morton in the West End version of the show - a role made famous by Queen Latifah in the movie adaptation when she was a more mature 32 years old.

Bollywood thriller CASH is facing a release delay after producers failed to resolve an ongoing financial and legal wrangle.
The diamond heist drama, directed by Anubhav Sinha, will now hit cinemas a week later than advertised, on 3 August (07), and makers are furious the new date clashes with other big releases.
One of the producers, Anish Ranjan, says, "It’s a big blow for us. We had selected 27 July because we had two clear weeks (advantage)… Now with the film releasing on 3 August, one precious week is lost. The publicity and posters for this Friday’s release were on full throttle. Now we’ll have to start again next week. We’ve also lost our chain of theatres this week." Director Sinha adds, "The last week has been an ordeal. We’ve been in and out of court trying to get Cash released on time. Unfortunately, we couldn’t make it this Friday. Never mind. Next week we’ll be on, and all the stress would be vindicated."

UGLY BETTY star ERIC MABIUS has leaped to the defence of maligned style queen VICTORIA BECKHAM, urging the media to "leave her alone".
The Spice Girl provoked a barrage of press abuse when her reality TV show Victoria Beckham: Coming To America aired in the U.S. and U.K. earlier this month (Jul07).
The show, which documented her move to Los Angeles with husband David and their children, was branded "an orgy of self-indulgence" and its star "relentlessly self-promoting" by the New York Post alone.
Meanwhile, scrutiny of Beckham’s weight and jibes at her sour-faced expressions have dominated British tabloids and magazines for years.
But Mabius, who is set to be Beckham’s co-star when she guests on fashion series Ugly Betty soon, can’t understand the bad press.
He tells Us Weekly online, "She catches a lot of flak in the press in England, and I don’t know why exactly, because she’s a very eloquent, highly functioning, brilliant woman.
"I went to the UK Glamour awards so I spent a little bit of time with her, and she couldn’t have been sweeter and more well-spoken - just cool."
