Damon insists he and his Ocean’s Thirteen co-stars have formed such a close friendship, because Clooney and Pitt are no different to the friends he grew up with.
Damon says, "George and Brad are kindred spirits. Having a beer with those two guys is like having a drink with guys I grew up with. It’s just like any other group - cards, pool and a few beers. Behind closed doors you’d have no idea they were stars.
"I’d love it if an alien came down for those two, and they were in a room with other guys, because they wouldn’t be able to pick out the stars based on the way they behave."

Tattooed actress MEGAN FOX has blasted critics who claim the permanent body art makes her look unfeminine.
The Transformers actress has a number of tattoos on her body, including a large portrait of screen icon Marilyn Monroe on her forearm.
But Fox is hurt by critics who claim Hollywood should banish actresses from sporting tattoos.
She says, "It is an oddity to have as many tattoos as I have and to be a girl, but it’s unfair.
"I mean, Ewan McGregor has a half-sleeve and nobody says anything about that, right?"

Celebrated British writer SEBASTIAN FAULKS will finally see his acclaimed novel BIRDSONG hit the big screen - fourteen years after it was written.
Production company Working Title Films have owned the rights to the novel for over ten years, but claimed they could not find a suitable director to take on a movie.
But since Faulks was approached to write the latest James Bond novel, Working Title says "there is something afoot".
Birdsong is set during World War One and received high praise for its portrayal of life in the trenches.

Actor HAROLD PERRINEAU is returning to LOST as desperate dad MICHAEL after a season absence.
Perrineau’s character was last seen at the end of season two, sailing away from the island with his son Walt.
ABC Entertainment President Stephen McPherson has confirmed Perrineau will be returning to the desert island drama’s fourth season, which hits screens in January (08).

LATEST: British comedy star CHRIS LANGHAM has spoken out in court about the sexual abuse he suffered as a child.
Langham is charged with six counts of indecent assault on a girl under 18, as well as 15 counts of making indecent images of a child.
However, taking the witness stand at Maidstone Crown Court in England on Thursday (26Jul07), Langham insisted he was a victim of child molestation aged just eight by a man who took him sailing when he was living in Canada with his family.
But he refused to divulge details, confessing he felt "deep, deep shame" about the incident.
Later, explaining the child porn found on his computer by police, he insisted he was as shocked as the jury by the explicit films he inadvertently downloaded while searching for adult pornography.
He said, "I opened it and it was not particularly vicious, but it was still a child. I closed it and I was very shaken by it.
"I talked to my wife about it. I’m one of the children in the photographs.
That’s the problem I have with it. I don’t know how to react to it." Langham denies all charges against him and claims any material found on his computer was for research purposes. The trial continues.

SCISSOR SISTERS frontman JAKE SHEARS is "naive" about his relationship with SIR ELTON JOHN, according to singer ANDY BELL.
Music legend John teamed up with Shears to pen the band’s hit track I Don’t Feel Like Dancing and the pair have become close pals since.
But former Erasure frontman Bell believe Shears is naive about the friendship.
He says, "I do get slight envy because of the Scissor Sisters’ mass exposure.
I recorded one song with (Jake), and we were on the subway afterwards and his phone rang. I asked who it was and he said, ‘Elton’.
"He’s got a hotline to Elton John, and I thought, ‘How sweet,’ because you can see the naivety. At the moment he’s feeling like everybody is his best friend, and it’s not really like that."

Pop star NATASHA BEDINGFIELD was so touched by a letter written personally by British royals PRINCES WILLIAM and HARRY, she is having it framed.
The Unwritten hitmaker was one of a host of celebrities who performed at the memorial concert for their late mother Diana, Princess of Wales, at London’s Wembley Stadium earlier this month (Jul07).
The princes sent thank-you notes to the singer and other performing stars such as Sir Elton John, Nelly Furtado and Kanye West following the concert and Bedingfield plans to put hers on display.
She says, "I got a letter from the princes and it was just so sweet. It thanked me for coming and said I was great, which was lovely. I’m getting it framed."

QUEEN guitarist BRIAN MAY has travelled from England to Spain’s Canary Islands to seek support material for his thesis.
The We Will Rock You star, 60, announced earlier this month (Jul07) he had completed his thesis for his PhD in astronomy, but needed some extra material.
May is currently conducting astronomical observations in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria - a volcanic island west of Morocco.
May hopes to pick up his PhD at London’s prestigious university Imperial College next May (08), if his work is considered good enough.

AMERICAN IDOL judge PAULA ABDUL was devastated to be fired from the Bratz movie - and was shocked by movie bosses decision to drop her from the project.
The Straight Up singer had claimed she was the film’s choreographer, costume designer and executive producer before her exit from the popular dolls’ live-action big-screen outing.
In an episode of Abdul’s reality TV series Hey Paula screened this week (ends27Jul07) in the U.S., the star is shown screaming, "How can they treat me this way?" after bosses at Lionsgate, the company behind the Bratz film, inform her she is no longer required.
A representative for Lionsgate tells the New York Post, "We love Paula, but we were sorry the partnership wasn’t able to come together."

Actress MISCHA BARTON has forged a friendship with the paparazzi after finding it impossible to lead a normal life in the public eye.
The former O.C. star was forced to learn how to deal with stardom after her television show became an overnight success when it was first aired in 2003.
But Barton admits she’s now on good terms with photographers, who often lend a hand with chores unloading shopping from her car.
She says, "I don’t think people realise how crazy it is. The day after the show first aired, someone recognised me in the street. I thought, ‘Oh no! What if it takes off?’ And it did. So I went with it. I had to do so much press.
I’ve only just learned to drive, because I couldn’t do it under the eyes of the paparazzi; I hate driving when they’re following me.
"It’s irritating, but I’ve learned to smile it off and forge a quasi-friendship with them. They’ll do things like help you put groceries in your car to get on your good side, or untangle your dog leash."

MADONNA’s director husband GUY RITCHIE is adapting his comic book series The Gamekeeper for the big screen.
The Snatch filmmaker launched his The Gamekeeper graphic novels with Virgin Comics earlier this year (Mar07).
Trade paper Variety reports Ritchie has now signed a deal with Warner Bros.
studios and The Matrix producer Joel Silver to bring the tale to movies.
The Gamekeeper centres on a reclusive caretaker on a Scottish country estate searching for the killer of his son.

Actress MAGGIE GYLLENHAAL has poured scorn on British Airways bosses for cutting out the sex scenes when showing her new film SherryBaby on flights.
The Secretary star plays a former heroin addict struggling to rehabilitate in society after a three-year prison sentence, and with a history of sexual abuse.
However, she insists the uncomfortable scenes in the movie are an important part of her character’s story and can’t understand why they were censored.

The Wedding Crashers actor was shocked when details of his direct cellphone were displayed on a banner flying on a plane above the Polaroid Beach House in Malibu, California at the Boost Mobile party on Saturday (21Jul07).
Jackass star Knoxville played the prank on Wilson, organising the banner which read, "Luke Wilson’s phone number 3105000082" - the actor’s real number.
Wilson’s much-publicised phone number is no longer in service.
