McCREADY ARRESTED FOR FIGHTING WITH HER MUM
LATEST: The woman at the centre of new assault charges filed against troubled country star MINDY McCREADY has been revealed as the singer’s own mother.
McCready is free on $1,000 (£500) bond after she was arrested on Saturday (21Jul07) on misdemeanour charges of domestic battery and resisting arrest following a domestic dispute with her mother in North Fort Myers, Florida.
The latest police reports confirm McCready’s mother, Melody Inge, called the authorities to complain about her daughter being intoxicated and causing a disturbance.
Police state Inge was scratched in the face during an altercation with her daughter, and deputies say McCready resisted arrest until a female police officer wrestled her to the ground and handcuffed her.
McCready claims she and her mother were playing Scrabble when an argument broke out and that deputies tackled her when they came into her mother’s home.
She is scheduled to appear in court on 14 August (07).
The Guys Do It All The Time singer’s latest arrest came just hours after she was bailed for a driving conviction.
