Superstar MARIAH CAREY has slammed internet pranksters for creating a fake advertising campaign for her upcoming fragrance M By Mariah Carey.
The Hero hitmaker has signed a deal with cosmetics giant Elizabeth Arden to create the scent, which is expected to hit stores in September (07).
In recent weeks, a so-called ad, purporting to be for Carey’s official perfume, has been circulating on the internet.
However, an Arden spokesman says, "An image of MC with her fragrance bottle photoshopped in the corner is being featured on several blogs today, and is categorically not the advertisement for her new fragrance, nor is it even remotely close. The real ad for M by Mariah Carey will debut exclusively on TMZ during the second week of August."

Top Hollywood couples TOM CRUISE and KATIE HOLMES and WILL SMITH and JADA PINKETT SMITH gave soccer star DAVID BECKHAM and his family a starry welcome to Los Angeles on Sunday night (22Jul07) at a glitzy party.
Cruise booked the Museum of Contemporary Art in downtown Los Angeles for the big party and invited celebrities like Eva Longoria, Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore, Jamie Foxx, Queen Latifah and Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy, among others.
Invites for the special party read, "Please join Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes and Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith in welcoming David and Victoria Beckham to Los Angeles." The party came 24 hours after Beckham made his debut for his new soccer team, the L.A. Galaxy, in a friendly against Chelsea FC.

An elderly woman has blasted reports SIR PAUL McCARTNEY’s estranged wife HEATHER MILLS has bought a home in Slovenia, insisting she still owns the mountain lodge.
Dana Stankovic, 84, insists the wooden building overlooking Lake Bohinj belongs to her, despite reports Mills paid $800,000 (£400,000) for the retreat.
Stankovic insists she owns the home, which was built by her father in 1937.
She says, "We had to abandon the house when the Second World War broke out.
"Then it was appropriated by the Nazis, the communists and the Slovenian government. We never sold it and now we want it back."

Legendary actress LAUREN BACALL has branded modern day celebrities "stupid" insisting they have ruined the industry.
The 82-year-old star - who was once married to Humphrey Bogart - says she only has respect for serious actors and not those that grace the red carpet.
She says, "I love my profession. I have tremendous respect for it. What I don’t have respect for is the red carpet and the celebrity scene. It’s become a zoo. It’s so stupid.
"They ask you stupid questions: ‘What are you wearing?’ Oh, Christ almighty!"

British actress LIZ DAWN is quitting popular soap opera CORONATION STREET to battle lung disease.
Dawn, who has played Vera Duckworth in the Manchester-based soap for 34 years, will leave the ITV show before Christmas (07).
The 68-year-old actress has the lung disease emphysema and has told programme producers she is too sick to continue.
Dawn says, "It’s been an amazing 34 years. I’d like to thank everyone for what has been the best time of my life." Coronation Street is Britain’s longest-running television soap opera and is aired in many countries worldwide, including Canada, Australia, Belgium and Holland.

Actress MEGAN FOX mistook director MICHAEL BAY for an extra during her audition for summer blockbuster TRANSFORMERS.
The 21-year-old, who was auditioning for the role of Mikaela Banes, assumed Bay was a fellow actor, but was quickly corrected by his colleagues.
Fox feared she had lost the chance to appear in the movie, but Bay had a sense of humour. She says, "I thought he was an actor or an extra because he’s so young. But then he took one look at me and said; ‘I like your style.’"

Theatre actress CHERRY JONES is reportedly being lined up to play the American president in the next series of hit TV show 24.
Show producers are hoping to cast a female president to star alongside Kiefer Sutherland and reflect Hillary Clinton’s fight for the top job in the White House.
Jones, who has starred in movie Signs and Ocean’s 12, is a Tony award-winner and campaigner for gay rights.

LATEST: A laptop taken from the home of British comedy star CHRIS LANGHAM contained graphic child porn images, jurors have been told at his trial.
A 25-year-old woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, claims she had a sexual relationship with The Thick Of It star, now 58, when she was 14.
Langham is also accused of making indecent photographs of a child between September and November 2005. Christopher Crute, a forensic computer analyst for Kent Police, told Maidstone Crown Court in England, some of the files found on the computer had "pre-teen hardcore" content. Crute told the jury on Monday (23Jul07) the file names on the laptop made reference to children as young as seven, while some included the words Lolita, incest and rape. The police expert said he found log-in details on Langham’s computer for an explicit website, with a subscription cost of £29.95 ($59.90).
But Langham’s defence counsel, David Whitehouse Q, claims the pornography was downloaded as research for a TV show. Mr Crute said he found scripts for the programme among the actor’s computer folders. Langham is charged with 10 counts of indecent assault on the girl, as well as 15 counts of making indecent images of a child.
The trial continues.

O.J SIMPSON’S controversial book IF I DID IT could be repackaged and sold by the family of RON GOLDMAN, according to court papers.
The former American football star was due to release the book - in which he hypothetically places himself at the scene of the murders of his wife Nicole Brown and her friend Goldman in 1994 - last year (06), but it was withdrawn by its publisher 10 days before its launch.
Next week (30Jul07), Goldman’s father Fred will ask a federal bankruptcy court judge in Miami, Florida to ratify a deal that would give him the rights to the memoirs - and he plans to repackage it for a new publisher.
He says, "This is the first opportunity we have ever had to take an asset from the killer." Goldman wants sales from the book to pay some of the $38 million (£19 million) Simpson owes Goldman from the wrongful-death ruling in 1997.
Lawyers for Nicole’s estate plan to fight an agreement giving Goldman the rights, arguing that the two families should share them.

Singer JASON DONOVAN stepped down from his stage role in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, because he feared he would end up like ageing British crooner SIR CLIFF RICHARD.
The former Neighbours actor and ’80s pop hunk enjoyed his time as the lead role in Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber’s London theatre production of the biblical tale during the early 1990s, but felt he had to quit before he became typecast.
He says, "The adulation and the money were incredible. But I didn’t want to be a new Cliff Richard in a satin suit any more. I didn’t want to stay complacent on one level and not be individual.

Late Mexican singer/actor PEDRO INFANTE is set to be honoured with his own Tequila.
The Tizoc star will have a tequila named after him at the Tequila Expo in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico next month (16-19Aug07).
This will be the second honour for Infante this summer (07) - his singer/actress daughter Irma is organising a musical tour in Latin America and Spain this month (Jul07), which showcases his movies and songs.
Infante died in a plane crash off the Yucatan peninsula in Mexico in April 1957.

THE SPICE GIRLS have confirmed they are adding an extra gig to their comeback world tour - and are giving fans the chance to choose the location.
The 90s pop sensations recently announced they are returning for a farewell tour of 11 gigs later this year (07) - but so many fans have begged the five-piece to visit their city, Sporty, Baby, Posh, Scary and Ginger have agreed to play one more time.
In a posting on the band’s official website, the girls invite fans to vote to make their home city "Spice City".
It reads, "We are so excited about the fantastic response that we have had from everybody registering to come and see us on tour. It means so much that people want to see the 5 of us together again on stage.
"We’ve had loads of messages from people all over the world asking why we weren’t performing in their country. It’s impossible for us to perform everywhere but we thought why not let our fans decide where we play? This is your chance to turn your city in to ‘Spice City’! All you need to do is tell us where you want to see us! "The City with the most votes will become ‘Spice City’ and we’ll definitely come and play there as part of our tour."

Music stars QUEEN LATIFAH, GARTH BROOKS and KENNETH ‘BABYFACE’ EDMONDS have joined the line-up at a gig to raise money for a MARTIN LUTHER KING memorial in Washington D.C.
The trio will join Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin and Carlos Santana at the Dream Concert, which is being organised by Quincy Jones, Russell Simmons and Tommy Hilfiger and will take place at New York’s Radio City Music Hall on 18 September.
A staggering $81 million (£40 million) has already been raised of the $100 million (£50 million) needed to erect and maintain a memorial to King on the capital’s National Mall.
A space has been saved between the memorials of former US presidents Abraham Lincoln and Thomas Jefferson.

Latin singer LUIS MIGUEL’s bodyguard has been accused of kidnapping and attacking a photographer in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
Paparazzo Armando Mota claims he was attempting to photograph the baptism of Miguel and actress girlfriend Aracely Jacques’s baby son Miguel, when the bouncer lunged towards him.
Mota says, "They put something in my mouth and began to strike, to attack me, to tell me many things and they began to destroy my equipment." Mota claims the bodyguard and his associates brought him to the nearby beach, where he was forced to remain for many hours.
He says, "They had me there kidnapped more than four, five hours… I was on the beach, gagged, naked."

Hollywood husband-and-wife JENNIFER LOPEZ and MARC ANTHONY almost quit their new movie EL CANTANTE, fearing abusive relationship scenes would damage their marriage.
Anthony plays Hector Lavoe, one of the most famous Spanish-language singers of the 1970s, in the movie - and Lopez plays his wife Puchi.
The film follows Lavoe’s heroin addiction, his violent relationship with Puchi and his death from an AIDS-related illness.
Lopez says of the film, "All my actor friends warned us, saying, ‘Those abusive husband-and-wife scenes are gonna be difficult.’ "It almost scared me into quitting. With those scenes, we’d end up exhausted.
But driving home, we’d just look at each other and say, ‘We are so normal.’"

Actress LINDSAY LOHAN has reportedly landed her first movie role since leaving rehab - but will need to dance for the part.
The Mean Girls star, who ended a 45-day stay at Malibu, California’s Promises Clinic on 13 July (07), has landed a part in new movie Dare to Love Me, reports People.com.
But the movie, which documents the life of dance legend Carlos Gardel, requires the 21-year-old to dance the tango.
The actress is rumoured to be taking weekly one hour lessons to perfect the routine ahead of filming, which is due to begin in Romania later this year (07).
