50 CENT SUES OVER SHOOTING GAME

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:14 pm

Hip-hop star 50 CENT has filed a lawsuit against internet advertising company Traffix Inc. for illegally using his image in a game about the rapper.
‘Shoot The Rapper’ invites users to gun down a ‘50 Cent character’ who walks back and forth across a small advertisement at the top of a webpage.
By clicking on the game, the user is brought to Traffix Inc’s client’s retail website.
50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, filed the suit in a New York court on Friday (20Jul07) and is seeking $1 million (£500,000) in damages and a ban on his likeness being used in the game.
His lawyer Peter Raymond notes the company does not use 50 Cent’s name, but adds, "It looks like him, and there’s no doubt the character is intended to be him… he is personally offended."

RIHANNA NOT INSPIRED BY BECKHAM HAIR

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:14 pm

R&B star RIHANNA has quashed rumours her new hairstyle was inspired by SPICE GIRL VICTORIA BECKHAM.
The Umbrella star insists getting rid of her long hair earlier this year (07) was a move to make her appear ‘edgier’, and wasn’t a nod to the stylish short crop of Beckham, who moved to the U.S. earlier this month (Jul07).
She says, "It’s very edgy. It’s a lot different from how you’ve seen me before. The short hair, the attitude is very B-girlish. I have a lot of attitude now and I’m not afraid to let it out anymore.
And the singer’s stylist is adamant Rihanna’s hair wasn’t a Beckham copy.
She tells MTV News, "We wanted to do something different, so we came up with this idea and everybody loves it.
"We’ve heard of Victoria Beckham but we actually didn’t copy her. For Rihanna we gave her longer pieces in the front and added highlights to it so we didn’t copy her look - we have our own look going on"

However, Kundra’s estranged wife Kavita tells Britain’s News Of The World newspaper her husband informed her in February (07) that he was ending his marriage for Shetty.
Kavita says, "Raj bragged Shilpa and her family had been sounding him out as a potential husband. I was stunned. Up until then I didn’t even know they’d met.
"She can have any man she wants - there are plenty of single men. She didn’t need to go after my husband.

Former Hollywood madam HEIDI FLEISS had no bruises on her face days after she alleged she was assaulted by ex-boyfriend TOM SIZEMORE, a plastic surgeon said in court on Friday (20Jul07).
The troubled Saving Private Ryan actor, 45, claims the alleged attack didn’t happen and is attempting to overturn his 2003 conviction of misdemeanour corporal injury.
Fleiss alleged Sizemore punched her in the jaw in the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, California in April 2003.
Speaking in Los Angeles Superior Court, Doctor Michael Cardenes said he spoke to the couple five days after the alleged assault and Fleiss ‘looked fine’.
Sizemore’s lawyer Fay Arfa asked, "There was no sign of any trauma, bruising or anything like that?" Cardenas replied, "I did not notice anything like that." Deputy District Attorney Robert Cha suggested Fleiss may have sought treatment to reduce the swelling before Cardenas saw her.
Sizemore is currently serving a-16 month prison sentence for violating probation from a drug arrest.

British band THE KLAXONS have disappointed French fans by cancelling an appearance at a music festival - after vocalist Jamie Reynolds fractured his ankle.
The Golden Skans stars were due to perform at the Festival Les Vielles Charrues in Brittany on Sunday (22Jul07), but Reynolds was ordered by local doctors to rest due to his injury, which was caused when he jumped off the stage at a gig in Angouleme, France on Saturday (21Jul07).

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:02 pm

LATEST: British rapper M.I.A. has finally been given a visa to travel to the U.S. after problems forced her to pull out of a Washington gig in May (07).

WHIBLEY THREATENED WITH DEPORTATION

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:02 pm

SUM 41 frontman DERYCK WHIBLEY was threatened with deportation from the U.S.
after a journalist took offence at negative lyrics he wrote about President GEORGE W. BUSH.
The Canadian rockers’s song March of the Dogs contains the words: "Ladies and gentlemen of the underclass/ The president of the United States of America is dead… And now the president’s dead/ Because they blew off his head/ No more neck to be red/I guess to heaven he fled." And one writer went to extreme lengths to have the band removed from the country over the controversial words - by calling on politicians to exercise their power against Sum 41.
Whibley explains, "He (the reporter) went to the House minority leader in the States (a Republican), who tried to have me deported, trying to say I’m threatening the president."
