Actor ERIK ESTRADA spent years illegally driving through California for hit TV show CHiPs - because he never had a motorcycle licence.
The former TV cop - who played Officer Francis Llewellyn Poncherello in the cult TV show - admits he faked speeding along the California Highways in the 1970s show.
But Estrada eventually obtained his licence for a recent appearance in reality U.S. TV show, Back To The Grind. The reality programme invites actors to try out the roles they portrayed on TV,.
Estrada admits it took him three attempts to pass his motorbike test.
He says, "It’s much harder in real life than when you act."
