Two US teenagers were caught burgling a tattoo parlour after they tried to disable the alarm system using hairspray.
The young girls from Maine tried to imitate the ‘Charlie’s Angels’ movie by spraying hairspray on the alarm beam so they could see it, but the product set actually set the alarm off.
Deputy Police Chief Steve Trahan: "They used hairspray. They tried to disable the alarm system using hairspray so they could see the alarm beam - it tripped the alarm.
"They said they saw it on TV.
"They wanted to spray it so the fog would come out and they could see the beam from the alarm system, apparently so they could walk over it or avoid it or crawl under it.
"Like on ‘Charlie’s Angels’ or the movies. It’s a good idea in theory, but they got caught."

A 90-year-old US man named Dickman has been arrested for flashing.
Leonard G. Dickman, of Indiana, was arrested for public indecency at Mount Airy Forest Park.
The nonagenarian was arrested while sitting in his red Kia Rio car and exposing his private parts by raising the leg of his shorts.
Dickman is also accused of touching an undercover officer.
Police have made several arrests in the Mount Airy Forest in the past few weeks after setting up an undercover sex sting.
Dickman pled guilty to a misdemeanour offence of public indecency and was sentenced to six months probation.
The judge also banned him from all Hamilton County parks.

The Princess Royal was visiting Cumbernauld, in central Scotland, to open a £40 million shopping complex yesterday (20.07.07), when she reportedly made the comment to local councillor Bob Chadha.
He told Britain’s The Daily Telegraph newspaper: ‘She told me she was planning to get on a flight to London as soon as possible.’ The 56-year-old royal then insulted a representative of soft drinks company AG Barr, which is based in the town, by making a joke about the taste of their product Irn Bru.
She is said to have asked: ‘How can you be sure someone invented that drink? Wasn’t it just a nasty surprise?’ Anne’s behaviour has angered residents of the relatively new town - which was created in 1956 to accommodate the population overflow from Glasgow.
Jamie Hepburn, the Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for Central Scotland, said: ‘Her comments were just rude. If I was invited round to Buckingham Palace I certainly wouldn’t say that I couldn’t wait to get out of the place, even if it was true.
‘Cumbernauld is a great place to live and there are hundreds of people queuing up to move here.’

The prince - who has turned 34 - has previously marked his day with an official ceremony at the Royal Palace in Oslo.
The heir to the throne has also posed for photos with his parents, Queen Sonja and King Harald, at their summer home on the island of Tjøme where he enjoys spending his birthday.
However, this year the prince and his wife Crown Princess Mette-Marit chose to shun any public celebration and enjoy the day in private.
Astrid Versto, information chief for the royal family, refused to say where the prince was or who he was spending the day with.
She told Norway’s Aftenpost newspaper: ‘The crown prince wanted to celebrate the day completely privately.’ The spokeswoman added that the crown couple were on holiday at an undisclosed location.
Royal fans still marked Haakon’s birthday in traditional style and flags were flying across Norway in his honour.
Haakon and Mette-Marit - who has one son from a previous relationship - have two children together, three-year-old Princess Ingrid and 19-month-old Prince Magnus.

Britain’s Defence Minister Des Browne announced Harry’s Blues and Royals regiment would join extra troops being sent to the war-torn country yesterday (19.07.07), but did not confirm or deny whether the young prince would be among the soldiers deployed.
Harry was keen to be sent with his tank unit to Iraq in May, but military chiefs ruled sending the royal to the war zone would be security risk both to himself, and the rest of his regiment.
The 22-year-old said at the time he was disappointed but was determined to continue his Army career.
The Army’s Chief of Staff, General Sir Richard Dannatt, said the military would not comment further about Harry’s movements.
After it was announced Britain’s third-in-line would not be sent to Iraq, it was revealed Iraqi insurgents had been posting threats on the internet about how they planned to kill or kidnap Harry.
One militia leader said he planned to send him back to his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, ‘without his ears.’ British soldiers fighting in Afghanistan have been facing an ever-increasing battle.
Troops have suffered increased losses in the troubled Helmand province, where the Taliban have regrouped.
Browne announced that troop levels in the country would increase by 100 to 7,800.

The royal couple jetted into the Balearic Island earlier this week following the christening of their granddaughter Princess Sofia.
Insiders claim the pair will aim to relax during their break after a busy few weeks.
A source said: ‘The king and queen love the Balearic islands and are really looking forward to their relaxing holiday.’ The king has also attended the Breitling Sailing Cup, where he was pictured enjoying himself on a boat in the Mediterranean Sea.
The king and queen are regular visitors to Majorca, which is the largest of the Balearic Islands, which also includes Ibiza, Formentera and Minorca.
On Sunday (15.07.07), the couple’s son Prince Felipe and his wife Princess Letizia looked on proudly as their baby daughter was baptised.
The royal couple’s 10-week-old daughter, Sofía de Todos los Santos, was christened in the gardens of Zarzuela Palace, situated in the mountains of El Pardo, just north of Madrid.
Little Sofia - Felipe and Letizia’s second child - was baptised with water from the river Jordan.
More than 100 guests attended the ceremony, including Spain’s Deputy Prime Minister María Teresa Fernández de la Vega and Justice Minister Mariano Fernández Bermejo.

William and his younger brother Harry have asked Camilla and Jasmine Al Fayed - whose brother, Dodi, was killed with Diana in the Paris car crash - to attend the London tribute to their mother on August 31.
Sources claim it is the princes’ way of showing there are no hard feelings between the two families.
A source told Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper: ‘The boys know what it feels like to lose someone very close. They lost a mother and the girls lost a brother. There is no bitterness on their part. It is a generational thing.
‘Obviously the memorial service is about their mother rather than Dodi. But they felt inviting Camilla and Jasmine was an appropriate gesture. They wanted to hold an olive branch to the family.’ However, it is understood that only Camilla will attend, after receiving her father’s blessing.
The source added: ‘The Al Fayed family find it very touching that William has reached out to Camilla and her family and a particularly trying time.
‘Mr Al Fayed’s battle is with Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip and the Establishment. He has no beef with the princes.’ Al Fayed has always claimed Diana and Dodi were killed in a plot engineered by the royal establishment because they didn’t want the princess to marry Dodi.
Diana and Dodi died after their chauffeur Henri Paul crashed their car in a Paris tunnel on August 31 1997.
The Lord Stephens report later ruled that they were killed by a drunk driver but Al Fayed has refuted that claim.
A full inquest into their deaths will be held this October.

The Spice Girl, who has just moved to Los Angeles with soccer star husband David and their three sons, eight-year-old Brooklyn, four-year-old Romeo and two-year-old Cruz, is keen to get them settled into the American way of life as soon as possible.

The ‘Angels’ singer has contacted Manchester supergroup Freebass – which comprises of Andy, New Order bass guitarist Peter Hook and Mani, who has played bass for The Stone Roses and Primal Scream – and offered to lend his vocals to a track.
Speaking at the London launch of the new documentary ‘Inside The Smiths’ yesterday (19.07.07), Andy said: "We’ve never been able to find a singer, and to be honest they are pretty big shoes to fill.
"We’ve got about 18 tracks and after a few conversations decided to get in touch with some of the singers we know. Ian Brown has done a song, Bobby Gillespie from Primal Scream, Tim Burgess from The Charlatans is on one, and recently we got a call from Robbie Williams, believe it or not, saying he wanted to do a track with us. It’s a bit bizarre but we’ll see how that goes." Andy – who appears with his former Smiths bandmate drummer Mike Joyce in the documentary – revealed the band plan to release an album next year and then hit the road.
He said: "We haven’t played a show yet, but the plan is to go out on tour next summer and hopefully have something out by the spring." Andy also revealed the trio’s initial attempts to find a vocalist involved a search for a missing person.
He explained: "We auditioned quite a few people and they either looked great but sounded s**t or vice-versa. "We did find a singer who lived in Wigan and we got him in the studio but then he went missing and we had to put out a missing person’s notice for him on the news and in the papers saying, ‘Have you seen this man?’ "When we finally found him we discovered he’d had a nervous breakdown. At that point we thought, ‘It’s not really working!’ "

And fellow crew member Emma Sayle adds, "Kate’s perfect material for our team. She’s stunning and very feminine but is incredibly sporty. Veteran actor BART BURNS has died of natural causes. He was 89.
Burns, who starred on the Broadway stage, on TV and in movies over the course of 50 years, passed away at his home in West Hills, California on 11 July (07).
Born George Joseph Burns in New York City, he changed his name in 1947 to avoid any confusion with the legendary comedian.
Burns went on to make hundreds of guest appearances on TV shows including Gunsmoke, Columbo, Baretta and The Rockford Files.
His movie career included parts in Seven Days In May, The Iceman Cometh and Legal Eagles.
