Bluffing beauty
A Bolivian beauty queen was stripped of her crown when judges discovered her hair was fake.
Mariela Mollinedo - representing the Aymara Indian community of Zongo, won the beauty pageant for her looks, dancing and historical knowledge.
The contestants dress in traditional Aymara costume and must wear their hair in two long braids, as is the Aymara custom.
But just hours after winning the pageant - held in the city of La Paz - it was revealed Mollinedo’s long braids were extensions.
The municipal Government said the beauty contest would be re-held among the Aymara community, who represent 60 per cent of the city’s population.
