PLIES SUED OVER GIG NO-SHOW
Florida rapper PLIES has been sued by an Alabama concert promoter after he failed to turn up at a scheduled July (07) gig.
The Shawty hitmaker, real name Algernod Lanier Washington, was set to perform in Montgomery on 8 July (07), but never showed up.
Patrick Monfiston of P Entertainment Promotions, who organised the concert, claims Washington made unflattering comments about him on local radio station WZHT Hot-105.
Monfiston alleges Washington maintained he wasn’t paid for the gig and demanded the promoter return the money from ticket sales to the audience.
Monfiston has filed suit against the rapper, his manager David Gay, the radio station and his management company ISA Bomb Entertainment in an Alabama Circuit Court, claiming he sent payment to ISA Bomb Entertainment for the gig.
He says, "Too many artists feel they can come in and do us (in Montgomery) however they want. I’m going to show them they’re wrong.
"If Plies attempts to perform any show here, I will have him arrested. He must fulfill the terms of this contract first."
