LATEST: British rockers KASABIAN insist they have ended an ongoing feud with fellow musicians KEANE - thanks to Live Earth.
Earlier this year (07), Kasabian guitarist Serge Pizzorno made a joke about Keane frontman Tom Chaplin going into rehab for an addiction to port, resulting in the singer challenging him to a drinking contest.
The row was then reignited when Kasabian singer Tom Meighan slated Chaplin for living in a diet of pies and Quavers (cheese flavoured corn snack) and called him a "posh boy".
But Saturday’s (07Jul07) Live Earth concert - and it’s environmental awareness message - has encouraged the warring bands to settle their differences.
Meighan says, "I’m over arguing about Keane. I’m trying to grow up in this world, man and that’s like the green message."

Pop superstar PRINCE is such a fan of his new 3121 fragrance he has told bosses at the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania company behind the scent to make sure he always has 12 bottles to hand.
The Purple Rain singer will launch the scent during a performance at a Macy’s store in his native Minneapolis on Saturday (07Jul07).
And the nose behind the new fragrance, Revelations boss Larry Couey, reveals Prince is a big fan of the gender-neutral cologne.
He says, "We went back and forth, tweaking and adjusting. Once we got it, he loved it. He said, ‘Get me 12 bottles, and keep me in supply.’"

Lebanese-born singer MIKA has disappointed fans in Denmark after cancelling a series of gigs due to an ear infection.
The Grace Kelly hitmaker was set to appear at two music festivals in Denmark this month (Jul07), but was rushed to Wellington House Hospital in London after complaining of pain in his ear - with the medical complaint leaving him unable to sing.
A spokesperson for the star, real name Michael Penniman, says, "He has been suffering from a viral ear infection which means he can’t sing. He has had to cancel a couple of appearances in Denmark but he is on the mend." But the chart-topper is keen to reassure fans that he will be back on stage soon, saying: "I’m fine. There is no need to worry. I feel okay and it’s just routine."

British singer AMY WINEHOUSE reportedly stormed out of a restaurant after ordering huge amounts of alcohol and ignoring her friends’ attempts to encourage her to seek medical help.
The Rehab hitmaker ditched her pal’s birthdays celebrations at a swanky London eatery after her request for nothing but vodka and champagne left her friends persuading the troubled star to book herself into rehab. A source tells British newspaper The Sun, "Amy ordered a vodka and 7-Up and a bottle of champagne, and got stuck into both. She didn’t order any food at all.
"At around 9pm Amy Winehouse got up and left. Two of the girls followed her outside, but she ran off… Her mates clearly love her and were really worried and upset."

Veteran actor DUSTIN HOFFMAN is to direct his first movie, 30 years after his last attempt at filmmaking led to him firing himself.
Hoffman was the original director of the 1978 film Straight Time, in which he also starred, but became so disenfranchised with simultaneously acting and directing, he handed over the movie’s reins to Ulu Grosbard.
He recalls, "I tried to direct Straight Time. I fired myself." However, Hoffman is now ready to step behind the camera again for Personal Injuries, about a personal injury lawyer.
This time, the 69-year-old - who will also star in, produce and co-write the script for the film - has been taking advice from some famous friends.
He adds, "Warren Beatty told me, ‘Don’t wait until the script is perfect or you will never start shooting."

CHRISTIAN BALE was left horrified on the jungle set of new movie RESCUE DAWN, when a wildlife expert told him the spider he was handling could kill him with one bite.
The adventurous actor was filming in Thailand when his potentially-fatal arachnid encounter took place.

The 21-year-old was filming in Los Angeles when director Michael Bay hung him over the edge of a tall building - shocking people on the street 50 stories below.
LeBeouf tells American magazine People, "We were on top of the Orpheum Theatre about 50 stories up and Michael Bay decided it would be a good idea to hang me off the side by my toes. One wire was the only thing keeping me from falling.

Actress PENELOPE CRUZ has denied reports she suffered a panic attack aboard an airplane as it taxied to the runway, forcing pilots to turn the vehicle around.
The Vanilla Sky star was aboard a Continental Airlines flight from Newark, New Jersey to Barcelona, Spain when the incident occurred on 28 June (07).
However, Cruz claims she disembarked the aircraft when informed there would be a three hour delay - and not because she had an anxiety attack.
A spokesperson for Cruz says, "There was no panic attack. The airline told her there was going to be a three hour delay because of a storm, so she deplaned and did some work."

The story of the GRATEFUL DEAD is to hit the big screen in an upcoming biopic based on a biography of the legendary rockers written by a longtime roadie.
Steve Parish’s 2004 book Home Before Daylight will be adapted by director Michael Garais and is being backed by Grateful Dead guitarist Bob Weir, who will serve as music coordinator on the movie.
The film will trace the Truckin’ band’s beginnings in 1960s San Francisco, California through to frontman Jerry Garcia’s death in 1995.
Parish was a roadie for the Grateful Dead for 35 years.
He says, "There has never been and there will probably never be another cast of characters like the Grateful Dead."

U.S. rockers FOO FIGHTERS previewed songs from their forthcoming album to just 100 people at an impromptu London gig on Thursday (05Jul07).
Frontman Dave Grohl began the exclusive concert at the upstairs bar of the Proud Gallery in Camden by talking for 10 minutes about the disc, which has the working title Echoes, Silence, Patience And Grace, and is scheduled for a September (07) release.

PRINCE will play the Minneapolis, Minnesota venue he made famous in his film PURPLE RAIN for the first time in 20 years on Saturday (07Jul07).
Tickets for the last minute show at First Avenue, where the live concert scenes for the 1984 movie were shot, only went on sale on Friday (06Jul07) priced at $31.21 each, a reference to Prince’s most recent album 3121.
