NUTINI BLASTS MONKEYS OVER LIVE EARTH SNUB

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:05 pm

Scottish singer PAOLO NUTINI has slammed fellow rockers ARCTIC MONKEYS for snubbing Saturday’s (07Jul07) Live Earth concerts for being "too cynical".
The I Bet You Look Good On The Dance floor singers weren’t invited to perform at the gig to promote climate change awareness, but earlier this week (ends08Jul07) they insisted the event was "hypocritical".
Drummer Mat Helders said, "It’s a bit patronising for us 21-year-olds to try to start to change the world, especially when we’re using enough power for 10 houses just for stage lighting. It would be a bit hypocritical." But the New Shoes singer insists the green extravaganza will be worthwhile.
He says: "Some people are being cynical for the sake of it. Of course the carbon emission will be high after the gig but the pay-off is lots of individuals and companies will want to make a change as a result. That’s more important."
