Both women have played dancing teenager Tracy Turnblad in the cult musical, and newcomer Blonksy admits she drew inspiration from her predecessor’s performance.
She says, "I took more inspiration as how Ricky handled everything and her career and success.

Former FRIENDS star JENNIFER ANISTON has a novel way to save the environment she brushes her teeth in the shower.
The actress revealed her eco-friendly tip on the eve of Al Gore’s Live Earth concerts on Saturday (07Jul07).
She says, "I take a three-minute shower. I even brush-wash - brush my teeth while I shower.
"Every two minutes in the shower uses as much water as a person in Africa uses for everything in their life for a whole day. The 24-hour Live Earth concert begins in Sydney, Australia and continue across the world with events in Japan, China, South Africa, Germany, London and Brazil, before concluding in New York.

HELENA BONHAM CARTER loved her HARRY POTTER debut as scary witch BELLA because she likes to be evil.
Bonham Carter replaced actress Helen McCrory in the role of Bellatrix Lestrange in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and the star admits she had no trouble accustoming to her character’s evil traits.

HOUSE star JENNIFER MORRISON was left embarrassed after fiance JESSE SPENCER proposed to her in French.
The couple were holidaying in Paris when the former Australian soap star proposed to Morrison at the top of the Eiffel Tower with the words "Veux-tu m’épouser?" Morrison recalls, "I was like, ‘Uh, what are you doing?’ He said, ‘I’m asking you to marry me in French!’ I was just staring at him. I don’t speak French.
And he said, ‘Well, are you going to answer?’ And I replied, ‘Oh, yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes!’ " It was third time lucky for Spencer who had been trying to propose for six months, firstly on holiday in Costa Rica and secondly during a camping trip.
He says, "She’s just so frickin’ smart, and I didn’t want her to have any inkling that it was about to happen." The couple, who started dating in 2004, plan to marry later this year at a private ceremony in Los Angeles.

PAOLO NUTINI was nearly turned away from the door from a party thrown by QUEEN ELIZABETH II - because he forgot to bring photo identification. The Scottish musician was invited to the British monarch’s bash at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh to honour his contribution to Scottish life - but almost got told to go home.
He says, "They nearly didn’t let me in… I didn’t have my photo ID. I didn’t know I needed it!.. Eighteen minutes ago I didn’t really imagine I’d be here. I waited till I got to the gate before I believed it." The star is still baffled as to why he was invited to the royal knees-up but reckons it may be a result of his charity work with Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy.

Singer DERYCK WHIBLEY has slammed the press for "making up" stories about his lifestyle.
The Sum 41 frontman and wife Avril Lavigne recently purchused an LA home which the media reported had a lavish ten bathrooms He says, "What you read in the magazines isn’t true. I don’t think we have ten bathrooms. I don’t know where they got it from.
"It sounded like a great house but I don’t think they were describing our place. I think we have around five bathrooms."

R&B star KEYSHIA COLE was so desperate to team up with MISSY ELLIOT she took matters into her own hands and phoned up the music legend herself.
Cole wanted the rapper to be one of the producers on her sophomore album Just Like You - but felt she needed to adopt a more personal approach to secure the hip-hop star’s skills.

LATEST: Latin songwriter FABIO ALONSO SALGADO begged for his life before he was critically shot at his Florida home, according to police reports.
The star, who is still recovering from his injuries, claims he was shot by Francisco Oliveira on 25 May (07).
Oliveira has been charged with first-degree attempted murder.
Salgado believed Oliveira who had worked for him for five years delivering marijuana, wanted to kill him.
He says, "I continued to beg for my life. He proceeded to kick me. He then put the gun behind my right ear and shot me in my head. "I asked Francisco Oliveira if he was OK, because he seemed nervous to me. At that point in time, Francisco Oliveira reached into his backpack and removed a handgun.
"He then asked me in Portuguese, ‘Do you know what this is?’ He then pointed the gun at me and shot me in the chest." Oliveira has pleaded not guilty to the charge and will stand trial on 5 November (07).

Pop star LILY ALLEN was forced to abandon her trademark prom dress and sneakers at a London gig on Thursday (05Jul07) when she lost her luggage.
The Smile singer, who recently designed her own collection of clothes for British high street fashion chain New Look, had to make do with an oversized cardigan and jeans for her set at the House Festival at Chiswick House.
She explains, "Someone lost my bags and I haven’t got any clothes or make-up."

Pregnant SPICE GIRL EMMA BUNTON has extra reason to celebrate conceiving - she was once told she may never give birth.
The British pop star announced she is expecting a child with longterm partner and former Damage singer Jade Jones in January (07), and the baby is due later this summer.
But the discovery was extra poignant for Bunton because she was diagnosed with the fertility-threatening condition endometriosis in 2004.
She says, "I’m unbelievably excited. I’ve been worried for such a long time that I might not be able to be a mum.
"I thought, ‘I’ve been so bloody lucky in my life that maybe not getting pregnant is payback.’" The Spice Girls reunited to announce plans for a world tour last week (28Jun07) after splitting in 2001.

French actor ROMAIN DURIS turned down a dream role starring alongside DANIEL CRAIG in CASINO ROYALE - because filmmaker MARTIN CAMPBELL made him take numerous English tests.
The 33-year-old auditioned for the part of the villain in the 2006 James Bond movie, but became frustrated when he realised he would have to rapidly improve his bilingual skills.
He says, "I’d already done an audition and a test for my English and then they wanted yet another English test. Well, I had other things to do. I was working on Dans Paris and I didn’t want to risk spoiling that. I said, ‘Do I work like a madman to improve my English or do I say stop?’" But Duris does not regret turning down the role and thinks his replacement, Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen, did an excellent job as bad guy Le Chiffre.
He adds, "The guy they cast is very good. I know I could do it too, but I have no regrets."

English playwright ALAN AYCKBOURN penned the screenplay to 1988 movie A CHORUS OF DISAPPROVAL in just one day.
Director Michael Winner paid a visit to Ayckbourn’s London home after acquiring the rights to the film - and refused to leave until the writer provided him with a script.
Ayckbourn says, "I went into the study and he sat smoking cigars. I wrote the film script in eight hours and I gave it to him at the end of the day and said, ‘Now f**k off.’"

Director LEN WISEMAN was inspired to become a filmmaker from his childhood awe with Bruce Willis as John McClane in Die Hard (88).
The Underworld filmmaker has come full-circle with the direction of the latest installment of the series, Live Free & Die Hard - released internationally as Die Hard 4.0.
He says, "Die Hard, Indiana Jones, and Lethal Weapon were the movies that really kicked it off for me in high school. I saw the making of Raiders of the Lost Ark documentary and thought: ‘Man, that’s the job I want to do.’ And I absolutely love the original Die Hard.
"John McClane is our best reluctant hero. He doesn’t wanna be there, he’s bitching all the time, he can be a bit of an asshole, a bit crude. We can relate to that, because we wouldn’t want to be there either."

HAIRSPRAY actress NIKKI BLONSKY dreamed of appearing on the big screen while working as a ice-cream server.
The 18-year-old makes her Hollywood debut in the movie alongside John Travolta in the latest adaptation of the kitsch musical - but last year (06) Blonsky was serving ice cream treats to the people of New York.
She says, "A year ago I was scooping ice cream in New York. Friends told me about the audition, so I went along and got the part!"

DOCTOR WHO star DAVID TENNANT is locked in talks with Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) bosses about playing Hamlet, according to reports.
The actor - who has spoken in the past of his desire to play William Shakespeare’s Danish prince - has previously acted in six plays for the RSC.
But rehearsals for the stage production might well clash with filming if the star chooses to sign up to a fourth series of the next Doctor Who.

Spanish filmmaker PEDRO ALMODOVAR dreams of working with a British author - and Ian McEwan is top of his wish list.
The director says he would love to create a movie version of one of McEwan’s famous books - and cast British actress Kate Winslet in the lead role.

Actor GARY OLDMAN holds director FRANCIS FORD COPPOLA in high regard, despite their difficulties filming Bram Stoker’s Dracula in 1992.
The Batman Begins actor writes off his negative experience as the famed director struggling with inner-demons.
He tells British film magazine Empire, "Francis and I, I think we were both… I certainly don’t think he was in a good place with things (during Dracula’s filming), and I don’t think I was either, so we kind of butted heads.
But when we could focus on it, and we got down to it, it worked. Physically it was exhausting; it was a long shoot, six months.
"I still look back and am thankful. I love Francis. He’s got his demons, but we all have. We’ve all had difficult times in our lives."

WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT duo BOB HOSKINS and ROBERT ZEMECKIS will reunite for a new version of A CHRISTMAS CAROL.
The director has cast Jim Carrey as Ebenezer Scrooge and Hoskins will play Mr. Fezziwig, reports Moviehole.net.
