RAIN & PROMOTER BLAME EACH OTHER FOR CANCELLED GIG

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:02 am

LATEST: South Korean singer RAIN’s claims he was forced to cancel a Los Angeles gig due to the incompetence of a local promoter have been dismissed as false.
The pop star - real name Jung Ji-Hoon - insists he had to abandon Saturday’s (30Jun07) concert at Staples Center because promoter V2B Global failed to get the production’s vast set-up ready on time.
Rain says, "The local promoter didn’t set up everything. When I came to the venue, the LED screen couldn’t be set up. I have rain falling in the concert that couldn’t work.
"The stage wasn’t set up, there were no lights, no sound. I wanted to do a great show. But… I couldn’t get onstage." But V2B boss Andy Kim counters, "It was a safety issue on the equipment they provided.
"But the real reason the concert was cancelled is the Korean team didn’t move quickly enough to make an alternative plan. They kicked me, the local promoter, out of meetings they were having with management.
"Then at 5.30pm on Saturday, Staples (Center) wants me to approve a press release saying the concert has been cancelled. (Original promoter) StarM didn’t consult me. I didn’t know until I saw the press release."
