Angelina Jolie claims Britain’s Princess Diana inspired her to become involved in charity work.
The Hollywood star - who is a UN ambassador - never met the late princess but says Diana’s efforts with the Red Cross anti-landmine campaign in Angola and Bosnia inspired her own charity work.
Angelina said: ‘Diana inspired me immensely. I followed the work she undertook very closely, especially the issue of landmines. It was fascinating that she chose that cause.
‘No matter what I do, I always want to go to refugee camps and meet with the most unfortunate. I have found it a privilege, it makes me feel alive.’ On Sunday (01.07.07) Diana’s sons, Princes William and Harry, hosted the Concert for Diana at London’s Wembley stadium to mark the tenth anniversary of her death.
Many stars, including Sir Elton John, P. Diddy and David Beckham, gathered to pay tribute to the ‘People’s Princess’.
