Britain’s Princes William and Harry have been offered jobs in TV by Simon Cowell.
The music mogul was so impressed with the boys’ efforts in organising yesterday’s Concert for Diana (01.07.07) that he invited them to join his talent TV empire as producers.
Cowell praised the princes’ in front of 63,000 fans packed into London’s new Wembley Stadium, saying: ‘You have put together one heck of a show. Well done. If you ever get tired of running the country you can work for me producing TV shows.’ Cowell then turned to fellow ‘American Idol’ presenters Ryan Seacrest and Randy Jackson and said: ‘Somehow I don’t think they’ll ever take me up on my offer.’ The TV star was blown away by a stellar line-up of performers including Diana’s close friend Elton John, her favourite band Duran Duran, as well as Status Quo, Lily Allen, Take That, P. Diddy and Kanye West. The show was organised by Harry and William to mark the 10th anniversary of their mother Princess Diana’s untimely death, on what would have been her 46th birthday.
Proceeds from the event will go to a series of Princess Diana’s favourite charities, including the National AIDS Trust and homeless charity Centrepoint.
