ZAHN LOSES 40 POUNDS TO PLAY PRISONER OF WAR

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 4:08 am

Actor STEVE ZAHN lost 40 pounds (18.1 kilograms) on the set of new movie RESCUE DAWN - eating nothing but raw vegetables, fruits and fish.
The Joy Ride star plays a prisoner of war opposite Christian Bale in the harrowing new film and knew he had to lose weight for the role, but left it until he arrived on set in Thailand to start losing the pounds. And he did it very quickly thanks to a strict diet and daily runs.
He says, "It wasn’t that difficult. I’d eat all day but I’d just eat raw vegetables, fruit and nuts and I’d have fish at night.
"On top of that I ran at least five miles a day, sometimes twice a day. I lost the weight in a matter of four months." By the end of filming, he was down to just one meal a day and he admits that was often a struggle.
He adds, "I never cheated but it was tough - I’m a meat and potatoes kind of guy."
