JACKSON SUED AGAIN
Superstar MICHAEL JACKSON has been hit with more legal papers - by a law firm claiming the singer owes them more than $100,000 (£50,000).
The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Wednesday (27Jun07), alleges Jackson reneged on a $109,994.48 (£54,997.24) payment owed to the unnamed Delaware-based firm for services as "general counsel" in another case against a concert promoter, reports TMZ.com.
In that case, Jackson was accused of pulling out of two New Year’s Eve concerts in 2000, but that dispute was later settled out of court.
The law firm claims Jackson ignored "repeated (but polite) demands" for the outstanding payment, forcing the company to start legal proceedings.
Jackson’s spokesperson has yet to respond to the allegations.
Earlier this month (Jun07), the Thriller star settled a breach-of-contract lawsuit with financial company Prescient Acquisitions Group over $48 million (£24 million) brokerage fees for the singer’s multi-million dollar loans.
